Discussion: Trump Asks Netanyahu: 'Hold Back On Settlements For A Little Bit'

“I am looking at the two-state, and one-state, and I like the one that both parties like,” he said. “I am very happy with the one that both parties like. I can live with either one. I thought for a while that two-state looked like it may be the easier of the two. But honestly, if Bibi, and the Palestinians— If Israel and the Palestinians are happy, I am happy with the one they like the best.”

Bibi and the Palestinians…didn’t they have a couple of hits in the early '80s?

Somehow, these tactics have worked for him in business, especially he used his television persona to leverage his popularity as a brand. But I would assume that he ALWAYS had the upper hand in every negotiation or he didn’t participate. He intimidated smaller companies, workers, businessmen, etc. I knew that when he ran into COUNTRIES like China, Mexico, etc., his leverage would go up in smoke. Netanyahu is going to do what he wants, and Trump won’t have the cajones to stop him. Now, not building the embassy in Jersusalem might the one piece of leverage Trump has, but he’ll probably squander that. This conducting all his business in front of media has got to stop. There’s no editing to make it look better later, Donald.

If Obama ask Netanyahu to do something rather than told him the Republicans would be bitching that he was weak.

And Netanyahu and Putin see this weakness and are swooping in to take full advantage of it.

I wonder if Trump learned how to speak from Palin or vice-versa.

Truly shattering. What a complete imbecile.

I know. And I am sure his personal approval is tops in the mind of both sides. What a moron.

As far as settlements, I would like to see you hold back on settlements for a little bit

We will work something out

He just says things. No thinking, no careful choice of words by speechwriters and policy professionals. He has no idea that he just went back on decades of U.S. policy. He has no idea how hard this is making it for Nicki Haley to keep our relationships from evaporating or even exploding.

She says one thing, Trump says another. Just like Conway, Spicer, Pence, etc.

You have to admire Netanyahu for not simply bursting out laughing and saying “You are such a stupid putz!”

Perhaps the only thing to admire him for ever.

Given the Republicans’ obsession with Israel, I’m surprised they’re not looking at a 51st state solution.

Fantastic, love his approach here. Certainly he can’t do a worse job than Obama on Israel Palestine.

“As far as settlements, I would like to see you hold back on settlements for a little bit,” Trump said, turning to face Netanyahu. “We will work something out. But I would like to see a deal be made. I think a deal will be made. I know that every president would like to, most of them have not started until late because they never thought it was possible.”

Isn’t the same kind of offer he had patsy Flynn make to the Russians? Don’t respond to the sanctions, we’ll fix it soon.

But besides that wtf is up with his verb tenses? Does he know whether he’s in the present or the past or what? Is this another sign of dementia or just functional illiteracy.

No wonder he loves the “poorly educated.”

It was an important period in the history of Zionist migration to Israel, the third great wave.

And buy your wife some nice shoes. I suggest you take a look at the Ivanka line. Vlad bought two — one for his mistress. Do you like to golf? I’ve got the best place. I’ll throw in a free bath robe. Great deal. Okay?

ROFL… What “approach?” Gibberish? And that is your idea of a good “approach?”

I wonder how long it will take for his supporters to realize that he is incapable of serious international negotiations?
