Discussion: Trump: Anti-Semitism ‘Has To Stop’

I guess you better tell the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that. I do agree with you about the “Jewess” line though.

You are right. All the female theatrical, tv and film performers I’ve known over the past 25-30 years refer to themselves as actors.

Think about the bar a guy who wants jews handling his money is setting for antisemitism. It’s like those trolls who claim they’re “just being honest” when they give out-of-context faked statistics about crime.

In his press conference he said the anti-semitic attacks were false flags–coming from “the other side.”

First he said some of the attacks were coming from the “other side.”

Then, by the end of his ramble, he said, “My people don’t do that.”

Ahem.

I really believe Trump is sincere about stopping anti-semitism and racism. The problem is he as surrounded himself with people from the alt-right who are dedicated anti-semites and racists. Since we are known by the company we keep, Trump is going to be continually surprised by reporters who ask him to denounce anti-semitism and racism.

Why do you believe that?

Dear Donnie–You can lead the way with this by getting rid of Bannon today.

I will await the headlines proclaiming this.

Who does he think is doing this, progressives?

Because, he is like many of his followers, and truly believes he isn’t a racist or anti-semitic. They are generally angry and deeply offended when you call them either. They don’t understand why anyone would call them either. Of course, there are people like Bannon who are profoundly racist or anti-semitic, but they know they are and have an ideology supporting their bigotry.

We on the left often fail to distinguish between the two camps. One we can work with and the other we can only oppose.

A lot of bigots and racist don’t believe they are as well, that doesn’t make them any less so.

“Bibi, he said, ‘I’ve known Donald Trump for a long time.’ And then he said, ‘Forget it.’”

Wow, if my eyes aren’t deceiving me that was the very first moment of self-awareness I’ve seen out of this man, as brief as it was.

I think it’s sad. I think it’s horrible. Yet at the same time, it helped me win in double digits. Did you see how big my win was? And these people, all these people. They love me.

You are right if you judge a person only by their actions, but people can act out of ignorance. Ignorance can be cured with knowledge. I look for people with empathy who can be cured. I don’t hold out any hope for people who are unwilling to put themselves in the shoes of others.

raises hand

Donald Trump isn’t the first politician to embrace ‘bloody shirt’ politics, but he is increasingly becoming the first to see nothing wrong with consistently using that medium.

“It’s been around longer than people think. There was a guy in Germany–Germany, can you believe it!–who Bannon talks about all the time! Major guy, huge.”

So THAT’s why you told the Jewish reporter who asked about how the Administration will combat the rise of anti-Semitism and anti-Semitic attacks following your election, to “shut up and sit-down” and then didn’t answer the question and instead vomited up how awesome your win was once again.

BTW, having anti-Semites and White Nationalist within your Administration, up to and including Steve Bannon, undercuts your phony claims about being “the most Anti-Semitic person you have ever seen”.

I used to think he was a stone cold con artist who actually knew better, but the more I watch him stumble from pillar to post the more I think he really believes the same shit my Fox News watching relatives believe.
