While I am skeptical that this debate will actually happen, it seems to me that it could be a helpful thing if it did. Bernie will go after Trump, and Trump being the thin-skinned egomaniac that he is, will not be able to resist making nasty attacks on Bernie, and both of these could do a great deal of good in minimizing the number of Bernie fans who might be flirting with voting for Trump in the general.

he could go after Trump with the usual righteous fury, but here’s the thing with Trump: if he plays his cards right, there is no real reason to attack Sanders; because at this point, its about getting the Sanders votes that either go to Johnson (and any other fringer) or Clinton.

So, two NON-NOMINEES for the Presidency are going to debate? And on FoxNews, whose only agenda is to see Hillary Clinton sent to Leavenworth. I can only imagine the howls and cries of martyrdom and conspiracy the Bernie camp would scream if Clinton - who is also not the nominee yet - had agreed to debate Trump before either had won the nomination.
Fuck you, Bernie Sanders. My biggest hope is the DNC will finally tell your traitorous ass to fuck off. Cut his funding and support. Enough of this ego-driven motherfucker. I doubt it would play out that way. Sanders wants this merely because he is desperate for free ad time. Trump would do this merely because he wants to sow dissent among Democrats. Both want to attack Hillary.
Trump and the moderators will turn the debate towards criticizing Hillary, and Democrats at large, completely consistent with the charges that Sanders makes against both. And Sanders will agree with them at every turn.

I don’t think this is serious. At least I hope not. Jimmy Kimmel asked Trump if he’d debate Sanders and the Sanders camp responded via Twitter that it was game on. I wouldn’t expect Trump to decline nor would i expect Sanders to either. That doesn’t mean there are any real plans to debate. To me, this is as serious as Muhammad Ali agreeing to fight Mayweather.

Bernie is showing that he thinks he is more important than the Democratic Party, and more important than saving the nation from Trump. Of course, he’s only even claimed to be a Democrat for a bit more than a year.
Hillary should hit him over the head with this before June 7th.
