Discussion: Trump And Putin Speak At G-20 After All

He does that pretty regular. Usually when there’s a bill to sign.

Well, I groped through my own mental fog to find this lamppost to lean on: If he’s just obedient, he can claim there are reasons it’s a good thing, it’s “getting along,” and 40 percent of the country will believe it sort of. But if he says “I don’t wanna” and Putin snaps his fingers and Trump gives up, that’s just, you know, obviously pathetic. So I guess I lean that way. More laborious thinking may get me someplace else. Feeling more putty-brained than usual today.

AP announced this in a tweet. You should read the twitter comments! :joy:

Remember when he did that in Israel to Netanyahu? It was hilarious, in its way.

Maybe so but why would you? hahahahahahahahahahahaha

Dare we hope that he was asking Vlad for political asylum, and he’ll being taking Russia 1 (or whatever they call their plane) to Moscow to live in exile?

That would be a good outcome for all sides. It’s not like he has paid enough attention in intelligence briefings to be a security risk…

P: Who’s your Daddy?!?
T: You are.
P: That’s right, bitch. Now I want to see you bark like a dog!
T: Woof! Woof! MAGA!

He’s even extending his no-press-conference policy to press conferences he’s already in:

One of the weird sisters from Macbeth. Put in Kelly Ann for another. And…? I think Melania’s moving into focus in this category, revealing herself to be quite the witch.

And then there’s always little Ivanka.

Good replacement. Should have been James Shaw Jr. in the first place.

Alll I can think of from Shakespeare when I think of Ivanka is Iago. Iago may be the nastiest character in all of Shakespeare. I bet I get 50 people with 50 other opinions.

I can see that. But she doesn’t have Iago’s brain.

I think Cloten from Cymbeline works for a lot of the Trumplings. The boys in particular. And maybe Trump himself.

Cymbelline is like that anyway - I agree. And Titus Andronicus.

@greysea - thank you! I’m not on Twitter so I love it when people do that.

The Guardian has video

The Argentinian president was left alone on stage when his US counterpart, Donald Trump, walked away due to a misunderstanding during a photo opportunity. Both leaders shook hands before Trump left the stage, with Macri appearing to call after him. It appeared the Argentinian wanted Trump to remain on the stage as they awaited other world leaders for an official members’ ‘family photograph’

Trump’s a joke, a punchline, a laughingstock among world leaders. Always was, but especially after this week’s revelations. He thrives on fear, but that’s gone, and, in fact, they openly mock him now. He’s incredibly weak and will flail around like a fish out of water, but it’s all downhill from here. So Putin has succeeded in that, but it’s peaked for him too.

Fun fact:

Trump’s GRU/KGB code name is “Individual ‘Number One.’”

Ah. Baby blimp was insulted by being asked a tough question again.

Astonishing that he thinks a head of state can act this way.

O my god. I laughed, I cried.

Was he really heard to say, “Get me out of here”?

Sounds very plausible.
