I’m sure Trump donated to AG’s of most states in which he committed crimes…

“I only donated money to see if Krooked Kamala could be bought, and also because I’d be reimbursed by my charity. You’re welcome, California.”

Didn’t they write Pam Bondi (former FL AG) a fat check?

From the Sac Bee article:

The Getty family, heirs of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, gave a combined $3,750, as did then-CEO of Wells Fargo Richard Kovacevich. Bill Fazio, a local attorney who ran against Harris in the 2003 race, recalls hearing she received a donation from comedian Chris Rock (he indeed sent along $500 from New York). Actor Danny Glover kicked in another $500.

Not surprisingly, Harris raised a significant sum — $2.8 million — from attorneys and law firms during her two successful campaigns for California attorney general in 2010 and 2014. She’s raised a similar amount from the legal profession for her Senate campaign coffers.

She’s also raised millions for her attorney general and Senate campaigns from a long roster of entertainment executives and actors: Halle Berry, Leonardo DiCaprio, Steven Spielberg, and Sean Penn, to name just a few. Silicon Valley venture capitalists and others in the finance sector have also been a major source of funds, as have those in the real estate industry and those who are retired.

Sooooooo… she’s raising money from the major economic groups in California who have money, although they don’t mention the Agricultural Industry. If I can get a direct line to the President of the US for a paltry donation of $3,750 - $5,000 in this day and age, I think I need to change my definition of what ‘bought and paid for’ means.

I like Elizabeth Warren’s pledge not to take money from PACs or lobbyists, but in the current campaign finance environment, that really doesn’t mean anything.

Are you sure you want to make that comparison? Harris and Bondi?

They’re not Republicans. They’re not Democrats.
They are a Crime Family. They are interested in subverting the rule of law to gain money and power.

Oh, and a dictatorship would be super cool too.

If I recall correctly - the “donation” to Bondi, came from the Trump Foundation.

I read the comment to be in the context of an earlier post suggesting that Trump probably gave to AG candidates in all states where he might commit crimes, er, do business.

Yes, so did I. I just don’t think you make this look better by pointing out parallels between Pam Bondi and Kamala Harris.

Ivanka donated $2,000 - about the amount the maid finds when she cleans the couch.

point taken.
