Clarke should do his job

Regarding
“America’s Sheriff,” why doesn’t Milwaukee County Sheriff David A.
Clarke Jr. do the job he was elected to do as Milwaukee’s sheriff and
take care of business (keeping Milwaukee safe) (“Gifts roll in,” Sept. 18)?

Why
do the taxpayers have to pay for Clarke’s salary? He’s running all over
the country, talking smart, taking gifts and making speeches for
monetary gain while, at times, wearing the uniform of the Milwaukee
County sheriff. Still he collects a big salary for doing what in
Milwaukee?

What are his accomplishments? Oh, yes, he did order a
fence be put up around Sherman Park. The people in that area are good
people and this was an insult. Additionally, why doesn’t he publish an
annual report detailing the accomplishments of the department? But then,
he’s no Sheriff Joe Arpaio!

Clarke’s deputies and his second in command are doing a great job and could probably function autonomously.

How does he find the time?

It
sure seems as if Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. has a lot
of time on his hands. Between the speeches, appearances and travel, I
wonder how he finds the time to actually do the job he was elected to do
(“Gifts roll in,” Sept. 18).

I
also wonder if he has an actual work schedule that he is supposed to
maintain. I know that if I’m not at work when I am supposed to be, I
could be fired. Not so much with an elected official; we only get to
remove them from office at election time.

I also am curious about
the county’s view of the sheriff appearing in his uniform at these
events. Does the county allow all of its sworn law officials to appear
in their official uniform when making political speeches?

He’s tweeting from @SheriffClarke and it’s being reported as him being the sheriff in Wisconsin. I would say it’s related enough to his public position that it’s not a private opinion.

As a cop, this guy IS the Establishment. And a wanker with a cherry on top.

Sheriff clarke says what?

How about it being impeachment time for the old crazy bagger sheriff! Who is obviously too nuts to perform his duties!

Where have I seen a uniform like that before?

One more thing, a fuc’ing 4 star…sheriff…REALLY??? Did you sew those stars on yourself david?

Always make me wonder about the self-awareness of these folks. Does he realize he is just their token black supporter? Does he cash in deliberately on the color of his skin, while throwing other blacks under the bus?

Does Milwaukee County have straight ticket voting?

So is Trump.

A black man calling for the 21st century version of “bitter fruit.” The man is a certified fool.

What’s the deal with the 4 stars on the shoulder epaulets? I thought that was for generals like Patton, Powell, Bradely, Ike, et al.

When did police captains and sheriffs take on this insignia?

Further evidence of police militarization?

No, no, he’s a 4 star general of the law…

Recipe:
Take one extreme right-wing lunatic nut job,
Mix with one uniform including gun,
Simmer in presence of autocratic narcissist with nutty conspiracy theories,
Wait just long enough for election loss,
Results in right-wing fascist wearing uniform with gun.

In many jurisdicitons, one can still be decertified as LOE, elected or not. He is a fascistic anarchist.
