Discussion: Trump Adviser Lashes Out At Critics In Media In Leaked Internal Memo

So Barry, this job’s good till July. November if you’re lucky. Where’s your next job gonna be?

I like that he capitalizes “Washing Establishment” like it’s a physical thing.

Nixonian paranoia and lashing out.

Don’t give these loons power.

What is It with WingNuts and their Random Caps?

So what you’re saying is that they’re just as paranoid, illiterate, and illogical in private as in public? Good to know.

“So this week the Media and the Washington Establishment bashed the campaign with energy yet ever seen against a Republican candidate.”

Yeah its unusual for a Republican candidate to be attacked like this, but its just another week for a democratic candidate. Nice that he recognizes that.

Cults are all pretty much the same. Only the faces and the excuses change.

The guy’s a regular prophet.

Are you sure that picture isn’t from an SNL sketch?

You know, if this is just one of those, ahem, scare quotes, “leaked” memos that sometimes happen, okay. It’s of a piece with the Trump campaign’s other branding, so whatever.

If this is really and truly how the adults in the room with Trump are talking to one another, then for the first time I’m genuinely horrified.

Barry Bennet lashes out in defense of bacon, fatty cheese, Jack Daniels, glaze donuts and Marlboros. “Everybody knows these things are good for you.Yet another pathetic display by so-called heart surgeons who line their pockets at the expense of the double-chinned by pushing statins, blood thinners, stents, lung transplants and even exercise.”

It’s the illiterate’s way of indicating emphasis. These are the same people who think that an apostrophe means, “Look out, here comes an s!”

Yet another reason to miss Chris Farley.

Is it worth pointing out that “bullshit” is generally treated as one word, not two?

Bennett’s memo is sycophantic in the extreme. If he were really trying to do his boss a service, instead of buttering him up, he would have asked why the Republican “establishment” and the mainstream media were so critical of Trump and suggesting ways for Trump to address the problem. Whining about how unfair everyone is seems to be Trump’s approach, and Bennett is toadying up to him with this memo. Is there no one in the Trump camp who will tell the emperor he has no clothes?

The truth is, you live by the sword and you die by the sword. Trump received, and still receives, enormous amounts of free publicity from the press, which has been critical to his ability to build a following without spending a lot of money. but as a number of impartial fact-checking sources have confirmed, Trump also outright lies, makes false statements and grossly exaggerates constantly–far more than any other candidate from either party. The media is finally getting more aggressive about pointing this out, which is, after all, their job.

This guy already failed. He was Carson’s campaign manager before getting tossed out by his business manager. He then attached himself to Trump’s campaign at no salary just to try and stay relevant. (Though I think they have given him a paid position now).

Most horrifying and offensive here is that this drivel passes as analysis in Trump world. Really? This is shallow, fully meaningless internal whining and name calling against The Other. Imagine the nightmare of a similarly run White House?

We suck and people point it out…IT"S NOT FAIR!

Would Mr. Bennett like a mirror with his whine?

“Bennett assured the campaign that the attacks did not spell the end of Trump’s candidacy.”

My read on this is that he is desperately trying to persuade his fellow staffers that all is not lost in the face of the despair over their lost cause that they are displaying off camera.

If that is the case, then perhaps he should consider that their perception is a more accurate reflection of reality than his. That might help him better prepare for the future.
