Discussion: Trump Admin Won't Forgive All Debt For Students Defrauded By For-Profit Schools

Scam-way? Mighty harsh for a company that just wants to help launch people like you on the road to success by pushing overpriced products on friends and relatives and then, when that doesn’t work out for you, will tell you that it is because you are a loser and will stay a loser unless you keep attending useless and expensive company seminars and buying useless and expensive company marketing materials.

Also, they wouldn’t mind if you continued to help spread the rumor that Proctor & Gamble does Satan’s work.

My apologies, your benevolence. You are obviously much farther up the multi-level marketing pyramid than I, so please let your forgiveness seep down to my level…

Make that: “Jesus will provide to the true White believers.”

My guess is trying to change the image from vile scam for profit college - to the GOP mantra of its the irresponsible students fault. Thus stave off attempts to limit vet benefits being able to be applied to the jacked up tuitions along with student loans. Yes, the surviving schools - and their Wall Street Bankers/Owners have a lot of influence.

The industry took a serious hit (and two of the major chains, Corinthian and ITT Tech, collapsed) and enrollments deeply declined after having had a period of astounding growth/fraud on the govt dime - leaving the debt to dupes. The Obama regulations were having a big, positive impact (for the students.) My guess they (fraud companies and banksters) want to find their way back to turning the money spigot back onto high.

Crime pays really, really well under Republican conservatives.

Hey now - getting screwed over by a long term scam can be a valuable lesson! Good to see our Education Secretary is spending our tax dollars on this bold new agenda. The next step will be some form of asking why State Universities are teaching anything other than marketing and trickle down economics, and forcing them to include nine credits from the newly installed local Koch Freedom Institute ™ college.

Blaming the victim–in this case of fraud–is an old Republican habit.

OT but just another indication trump is flipping out:
President Donald Trump has set his sights on a new target: filmmaker and Trump critic Michael Moore.

Trump tweets: “While not at all presidential I must point out that the Sloppy Michael Moore Show on Broadway was a TOTAL BOMB and was forced to close. Sad!”

Trump criticized the liberal activist on Saturday, several days after Moore’s one-man show, “The Terms of My Surrender,” concluded its limited Broadway run on Oct. 22.

Playbill.com says the anti-Trump show examined America’s current political and cultural landscape.

Donny doesn’t seem to understand the concept of a “limited run” on Broadway. As in, it closed when it was planned to close from the beginning. It wasn’t a smash hit, but it ran its full scheduled run. And you know you’re a chronic liar when you’re getting fact-checked by freakin’ Playbill.

well, Old Betsy works for, yearns for all money going only to ‘them’ and I’m pretty sure most of the for-profit schools have a hand held out to her family and their firms.

I thought BS on the Trump University diploma meant “Bull Shit.” But “Been Suckered” works too.

Reminds me that my Sophomore year roommate had a biology lab assignment where they investigated the mutagenic effect of various common substances on fruit flies. He said that Tide was the most mutagenic of the materials they tested.

To this day, I will dress my fruit flies only in clothes washed in Ivory Snow. If it’s good enough for Marilyn Chambers, it’s good enough for my little maggots.
