Bush/Cheney did plenty of damage, waging an illegal war at the top of the list of crimes.
ETA, I thought they would fare better, but after further consideration, they were just as bad or worse. Some of their biggest actions can never be undone.

That’s kinda my point. I’m nostalgic for a period which was horrific.
Because even on their worst days, there was never a thought that they would sell us out to the russkies. Or single-handedly surrender the globe to them. Or dismantle and destroy our institutions.

This is pretty interesting given Giuliani’s relationship with Donald and how inept he seems now…and the hair back then! It actually seem like if Rudy knows what it took to get to the head of the mafia, he might know what it takes to keep Donald from getting taken down. And that’s why Donald keeps him on in spite of his seeming ineptitude.

Trump is picking up on Jody Hice’s bullshit conspiracy theory that Cohen’s testimony was all false and terribly compromised because Elijah Cummings’ and Adam Schiff’s staff had communication with Cohen’s lawyers and himself prior to his testimony. Would be idiotic not to prepare with a friendly witness and when the GOP was in charge of all the committees, they surely prepared with all of their friendly wink wink nod lie witnesses.

There was definitely some dismantling going on in the Justice Dept. Too much secrecy (Cheney’s energy meetings, lots of document shredding). I’m not sure we’ll ever know just how much we were sold out then as well, frankly.
