Discussion: Trump Accuses New York Times Of Committing 'Virtual Act Of Treason'

I am still waiting for Mr. Phelps to step forward, and whatever actor has been playing Trump to remove the mask and reveal that the real Trump has been held in Guantanamo since early in the 2016 campaign (when his malfeasance was first made evident). My dream is that this has all been an undercover scheme to out all of the criminal and corrupt elements, all of whom are summarily arrested.

It clearly has been since the NSA made ā€œdealsā€ with telecom agencies to tap (without benefit of laws) overseas calls, as per the Snowden leaks. This was during Cheney/Bush, of course.

This, IMHO, is hilarious. The DoD and the NSC work assiduously to plant a cyber bomb under Putieā€™s ass, and they didnā€™t bother to tell Trump about it until he reads it in the NY Times. His first reaction is to blame the messenger, but you can bet the fireworks inside the WH will be spectacular.

Trump sees his Lord and Master, Emperor Putin,in a matter of days at the G20. My guess is he will be taken to the woodshed on not containing his dogs. If heā€™s smart, (heā€™s a fucking moron, per Rex T), heā€™d have Bolton explain it all to Putin along with a threat to behave or no lights and hot water, but my guess is this will result in Bolton being shown the door. In the meantime, the LAW gives Gen. Nakasone authority to act without authorization from the POTUS or SECDEF. Perfect - the Deep State strikes back.

Another story about how unfit for office he is.

Good morning Vladimir. Nice country youā€™ve got there, be a shame if anything would happen to it.

Women are too irrational and take things personally to sensibly govern. Thatā€™s why we need men who are never these things to be in positions of power.

I normally would be seriously worried that any portion of our government would ā€˜shieldā€™ the president from their actions
(Seven Days in May https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Days_in_May),

but in this case, US Cyber Command is carrying out their mission.

The potential for Black Sky Events is real.

Look at South America this morning.

The serious bad actors will not need to shoot missiles at us. Just take down our powergrid(s).

Note in the above that not only is the power out, but water service is disrupted.

Trump doesnā€™t need to know. He would just fuck it up, again.

Not snark at allā€¦for too many men.

People who do national security for a living are telling the New York Times he is. Which snaps a spotlight on it, as in Helsinki, and puts him in a profoundly gotcha situation. All he can do is deny the story entirely.

And damn me for a broken record but if this is conscious complicity to sell papers and clicks and so forth itā€™s sure a funny way of doing it, highlighting the most profound concerns we have about this strange and suspect chief executive. So the next time people want to rail about the monolithic media and the New York Times in particular, remember this one, if you canā€™t remember all the others. Just saying.

Most in the Cyber Command would have been happy to have a president order these cyber attacks to protect our institutions of democracy, rather than concerned about a president shutting them down to protect his own self interests.

Oh goodieā€¦Donnie learned a new word! TREASON! He doesnā€™t know what the hell it MEANS but by God and by Trump heā€™s going to accuse everyone of it!

They mentioned intelligence officials so Trump could not be informed.
He does not understand intelligence.

Too weak for kayfabe, too strong for a birthday message?

So little donnie has learned to say a new word, treason, and has been throwing it around with abandon. One day, with that ā€œbig brainā€ of his, he might even learn what it means.

For my wife (a schoolteacher)ā€¦told by idiots that ā€œthe schools are failingā€

For me (a college prof)ā€¦told by idiots that college is a waste of time

For you ā€¦well, you know what you have had to put up with from people (including me)

Gladā€“for youā€“to see this story.

Without a Fourth Estate (which we HAVE) we are DONE.

Sā€™ok. Nothing virtual about Trumpā€™s acts of treason,

The #1 national security threat to the US: Donald Trump and John Bolton.

Our national security and legal system was never designed to deal with a gangster in the White House and a critical national security threat! AG Barr has trashed the legal system and the Constitutionā€¦even his associates canā€™t explain or understand how extreme he has become.

Mueller failed the nation - big time.

These two story lines are intimately related: because the intelligence community doesnā€™t trust Trump they have heat him out of their own response to Russian interference and because they do not trust him and keep him out of the loop there is (or at least might be) a surveillance issue.

Individual 1 may want to keep the word ā€œtreasonā€ out of his mouth from now on.
