You have had vast amounts of experiences. I feel cursed, right now, for having studied the social sciences. There is an irrational component of the population which TRUMP NOW OWNS.
The MSM’s hollowed out character is now exposed. Even in the days before the Freedom Riders, the Fourth Estate (I will NEVER call the 1950s and 1960s Fourth Estate that whorish term “the media”) would have all called for Trump’s withdrawal from the public arena (forget about the Campaign).
They have not.
This means that we are FUCKED. We are on our own. To the MSM, we are media-consumer units. That’s all.

So, there are about 3 million Muslims living in America, which in Trump statistics means about 800,000 militants live here. I think that includes children, so call it half a million adults. If there really were that many militants here, we’d be getting car bombings daily, the malls would be closed due to the rampant suicide attacks, and the nation would have soldiers on every street corner. So, the reality is the numbers just don’t add up…even in the Middle East the militants are a small fraction of Muslims (probably similar to the militant Christians in the US, for example).
However, to Trump supporters this number sounds very accurate. Remember, a lot of them feel like the nation is under assault, and there is a Muslim army already here planning a takeover (with Obama just waiting for the right moment to start it in motion). They are fear driven and want action against the threat, so Trump can get away with stating stuff like this because it feeds their narrative.
The think we have to ensure is that the rest of the nation doesn’t buy into this narrative…the Republicans have already seated it in the nation’s psyche, so if Trump can get away with making it even larger then he can win. If we can show how wrong he is, and by extension how the Republicans have used this narrative to lie to America, then the Democrats win big. I’m honestly not sure which way it will go, I’d like to think logic and facts matter but I’m not so sure about that anymore.

You cannot have an argument based on logic and evidence if the other person utterly rejects logic. Then evidence means nothing. The only way to break thru that barrier is experience. If you tell a trump supporter that he (trump) is playing with fire by egging on the violence he will disagree up until he gets his clock cleaned in a trump supported melee. Even then he might say that facts have a liberal bias because they are so “sciencey”.

By Trump’s “logic” there are 432 million “very militant” Muslims in the world. Just a teensy bit different than his suggested 100,000. If there were actually that many “very militant” Muslims around I would think they would not need ISIS or al Qaida and they wouldn’t be struggling to take over a middle eastern failed state…they would already be that state and much more. That number I quoted is 100 million MORE than the population of America fer chrissakes. So the level of terrorism would be significantly higher.
Trump is full of something a lot smellier than baloney.

but YES, Donald’s use of fake stats immediately reminded me of Senator Iselin!
I certainly did not mean to ruin your Sunday morning. This crap we see can be corrected to some extent if good folks turn out in large numbers and vote for a candidate OTHER than Trump. And that would certainly affect down ticket candidates.
My personal fantasy is that in November Trump fails to get a single vote out of the electoral college. (see 12th amendment and/or 2nd article)
