I just left Joshua Tree 1 hour ago after a three day stay. It was nowhere near the outlaw environment the LA Times described. Volunteers cleaned and stocked the toilets, people seemed to generally repspect the rules. The NPS did close the old mine area due to “illegal activity “ but I have no idea what that was. Indeed there was trouble with campsite reservations and the campgrounds are going to be closed today due to the bathrooms not being serviced.
Btw, the park is awesome in winter.

Obviously, this is a very full and very close look at the Dotard’s incompetence. He’s demonstrating, yet again, that ETTD. However, just because T rumpp is a political invalid, that does not exclude thousands of morons from helping themselves to this nation’s most fragile areas and ecosystems. Just because NPS Rangers are not working, the law is still the law, meaning law enforcement can still and must be used to protect what is legally protected. This is only one example of how this shutdown will be a strong test of American’s patriotism. Do we love this country and its resources enough to respect their natural limits. or do we pillage and rape because we believe ourselves to be more important than our homeland? The deplorable idiots are exposing themselves.

The NPS will have to make it right as well as they can on what will certainly be truncated budgets. and the right will point to it as a reason to privatize.
