Discussion: Top Senate Intel Dem: 'Grave Concerns' About Independence Of Russia Probe

I don’t understand his last sentence. Does Warner have any concrete options if he feels that the SIC is compromised?

Republicans were elated by the 2016 election results which gave them control of all three branches of government. Most of them will do anything to preserve this, including propping up a tin horned dictator and his puppet, Trump.

The inevitable downfall of Donnie “Manchurian Candidate” Drumpf will make Watergate look like a brief schoolyard fight between two five year-olds. Even the GOP will eventually catch on to what is going on when Putin finally moves into the White House.

Yes, he can apply pressure for a special prosecutor and a select independent committee to be appointed. It would be a tough slog, but also a very public one.

Warner must call for a Special Prosecutor to clear up the many questions that have been and are emerging. We deserve complete answers.

Burr, Nunes, and Pompeo all agreed to downplay the Priebus-FBI story to the press…for reasons I can’t fathom AT ALL. The USS Trump is sinking and it’s obvious to anyone who isn’t blind.

The odious Darrell Issa is running for his political life once again against Doug Applegate so he is also calling for a Special Prosecutor now just to burnish his image.

Senator Warner has good reason to be concerned. Fake President Trump has assembled a most corrupt White House staff and core political team. If in fact there has been no collusion with the Russians would you not think that they would want to get these investigations completed and out in the open. The allegations of collusion are a cloud on Trump’s administration.

On the other hand if, as it appears, they are fighting an independent review “tooth and nail,” then there is all the more need for a complete, independent, and ultimately public vetting of what has happened and is happening.

In the 35 days of his administration, Trump has given us no reason to trust him!

Who refused? McCabe and Comey. Pompeo seems to think he’s still in congress.

Republicans are scared shitless about pissing off Trump’s base if they try to do anything to keep him in check (which is part of their job). They will fight as hard as they can to avoid alienating the base.

So Chaffitz of Utah, who sees no reason to investigate the Russia Connection, thinks it’s A-OK to try to suppress a DC only bill on assissted suicide? There’s priorities for ya - he’s the House Oversight Committee Chairman already!

Darrell fucking Issa said we need a special prosecutor last night on Maher.

Issa can see which way the wind is blowing, I’m assuming because he’s from California and knows the wind is getting ready to blow him out of office.

But I’ll take it and the more people in Congress saying from both sides, the better.

@bobatkinson - I see you beat me to it about Issa. Didn’t mean to step on your comment - didn’t see it first.

So I guess the 1000 or so people who showed up at the local park for a town hall (Issa didn’t arrange it, they asked him to come) or the ~250 standing on the street outside his office trying to catch him, or the group that showed up outside his house actually gave him a scare? Amazing. Issa rarely, if ever, meets the public. A $400 donation is the usual price to meet him for group tea.
