I hope the walls truly are closing in on the bastard, and we’re not just fooling ourselves with false hope. The Democrats have to speak loudly, clearly and firmly, and the Republicans have to grow the hell up and stop playing games with our country. This is serious shit, and if they think they’re going to come out ahead, they’re stupid, as well as corrupt and dangerous. You can count on one hand - and have several tiny fingers left over - the number of people Trump cares about besides himself. He will not be inviting hordes aboard his lifeboat as his ship of state sinks. He’ll be steering the half-empty lifeboat and swinging the oars at anyone in the water who dares to try cllimbing aboard.

There is only one reasonable conclusion that can be drawn from the decision to fire Comey: that there is grave wrongdoing at the center of the Russia scandal and that it implicates the President. As I write this, I have a difficult time believing that last sentence myself. But sometimes you have to step back from your assumptions and simply look at what the available evidence is telling you. It’s speaking clearly: the only reasonable explanation is that the President has something immense to hide and needs someone in charge of the FBI who he believes is loyal. Like Jeff Sessions. Like Rod Rosenstein.

Hallelujah! It really has been unfathomable to me that anyone, let alone someone as astute as Josh, could seriously doubt that Trump was fully involved in colluding with Russia. As of several months ago, doubting this seemed roughly equivalent to imagining that it was OJ’s brother Jason who was the real murderer.
But, hey, whatever it takes to get someone to see the light. And if this helps to convince others like Josh, so much the better.

Marshall has been giving Comey the benefit of the doubt since July with all kinds of wishful explanations for his behavior so to see trump fire the FBI director really has rattled him as it should. Comey blew it with his statement last July and again in October but Josh was still wanting to believe he had integrity and honor and would be able to oversee the unraveling of the trump/russia connections. Now we will more than likely see an agent from the compromised New York section of the FBI appointed to become the new director. Or fucking Giuliani hisself.
Just too far outside the understanding of people who are inside the information loop of the way the world works to be believed.
The article doesn’t even MENTION the biggest outrage: Comey was replaced by a Trump loyalist who tried to get people to call reporters and lie to them about earlier revelations on the Trump-Russia connection! This Trump shill is now leading the investigation of Trump! This was only reported by Rachel Maddow.
So Trump has replaced the Attorney General and the head of the FBI with people committed to covering up corruption, and very probably treason on an unprecedented scale. Trump may actually get away with it!
