Discussion: Top Candidates To Replace Comey At FBI Are Deeply Compromised

Because whomever replaces Comey at the agency …

“Whoever”, not *“whomever”. A relative or indefinite pronoun takes its case from its use in its own clause. “Whoever” is the subject of the verb “replaces” and should be in the subject (nominative) case (“whoever”) not the object (accusative) case (“whomever”). Anyone who writes professionally should know this.

I hope the only reason most Republican Senators and Representatives haven’t joined the chorus for Sessions to step down and for Trump to be impeached is the ever fainter hope that Trump will select someone non partisan and competent for the FBI position. Lots of hope in that sentence and very low expectations.

As a proud Democratic Southern white man, I must say that I’m very happy the Dixiecrats left/were forced to leave the Democratic Party. The Republicans did themselves no favors by courting them. I believe President Lincoln would not like what his party has done to itself … on so many levels. Party before country, in particular, would shock him.

Which would make it just as bizarre as Trump claiming he fired Comey for the way he conducted the Clinton emails probe, after months of praising Comey for that same inexcusable conduct.

Or like letting mafia dons choose the city’s chief of police.

My money is on Ammon Buddy for head of the FBI.

In my opinion Rogers doesn’t sound so bad. It also appears he’s got support from a group of agents in the bureau pushing for his appointment. They seem confident he’s a Bureau guy first before a partisan hack, and given his pedigree of dissenting from GOP partisans mentioned in this article I’d be able to retain some hope for optimism should he be appointed.

Of course that’s why I’m sure Trump won’t pick him and will almost certainly try to get away with picking Cornyn or another hack that Sessions gets to swear a “loyalty pledge” of fealty to Trump behind the scenes. Cornyn’s hardcore partisanship and lack of FBI work experience would probably prevent him from being confirmed, so I’m really curious to see what stooge they end up trotting out there.

Good reporting, Alice and Allegra.

Then you need to change your opinion, and double quick, too.

Rogers is a right-wing partisan hack who would fuck up a wet dream.

Only the compromised would work for this senile old fart with delusions of grandeur. I suppose they figure they can operate over Trump’s head as he’s such a low functioning illiterate?

Why keep pretending? Just put the FBI under the personal control of Jefferson Pinocchio Beauregard Sessions, dispense with those antiquated formalities like Senate confirmation, and have all the agents take personal oaths of loyalty to the person of the Führ- I mean, the President. Donnie would probably think that was perfectly appropriate.

Since Bannon seems to need something to do, in order to keep him busy, you could ask him to design a snazzy new uniform. Seb “Heil” Gorka could probably contribute some ideas.

Do they hate emails by females?
That’s qualifier #1 and if they can clear that high hurdle then it just comes down to skin tone, private parts and a smallish 100 page Russian questionnaire pre-qualifier.

EZPeezy lemon squeezy!

Its not going to be anybody in this article’s list. This is just red meat for the GOP base. Given everything that is going on, there is no way a politician or news analyst could get through the nomination process. They need a career FBI agent, preferably one that is already somewhat up to speed on the current investigations. McAbe is the obvious choice, but Trump will be reluctant to appoint him because he already failed the personal Trump loyalty test in his public testimony last week.

My prediction is this seat stays up for quite some time.
