The issue (crime) of sexual assault is not an Alabama issue. This accusation has national implications. The more Republicons defend Roy Moore against those accusations, the more they are viewed on a national scale as being complicit in the entire culture of male superiority over women. This will affect voter’s choices of candidates nationwide. Roy Moore for Senate is an isolated race, in that sense. This can affect every House and Senate race in the country.

If 30-somethings dating teenagers was so kosher, I wonder why Moore allegedly waited for Leigh Corfman (the 14yo’s)‘s mother to get caught up in court proceedings before he started layin’ down the moves.
If it’s all on the up-and-up, why not go home and meet the family? Isn’t that how things worked back in the good old days, when America was America and America was Great, before the youths started getting all caught up on the Tinders?

Look it’s not surprising these folks quoted already oppose laws that set minimal age requirements for marriage. You have that Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson saying that 14 and 15 year old girls ought to get married because by the time they are 20 “they have their hand in your wallet”.

One of the quoted Republicans said " This is the same campaign issue the left ran against Donald Trump on, they’re doing the same thing against Roy Moore.”
That is funny in so many different ways, I don’t think I am qualified to name them all. Let’s just say that I have never thought of an actual tape recording of someone bragging about sexual assault as a campaign issue - I thought of it as evidence.
But I am not a lawyer.

I spent weeks at a time in the Babble Belt, AL, SC, NC, and GA for work. In every town, there was at least one baptist church, and on each occasion, across the street, there sat a pancake house, next to a strip club. Sure seemed to have their whole weekend covered.

I’m sure they’ve probably been offered money by entities that surround the Clintons and that side of the world.

But there are no words to adequately capture just how sickening this statement is. A supercomputer with infinite time and the Unabridged Oxford Dictionary at its disposal couldn’t do justice to the level of moral crapulence represented by that statement. It’s beyond all words.
