Discussion: Top Aide: Trump Better At Talking To Black Voters Than Most GOPers

“Flack” is P.R. publicity.

“Flak” is incoming antiaircraft fire.

Nobody gets that right anymore.

I kid you not, I had a student about 10 years ago whose name was equivalent to “Valuable Lesbians”. The first name was Precious.
Man, I hope she votes for Trump!

It’s all part of the GOP outreach. Trump knows that hard love is much better than “the bigotry of Hillary Clinton, which panders to and talks down to communities of color and sees them only as votes.”

Out here in the real world we call that having a job.

lol… I like to think I speak to the grown ups in the room… :joy:

Now there’s a low bar.

Welcome to the world where Giuliani’s “abbreviated language” meets Twitter’s 140 character limit.

Or maybe it’s just a case where P.R publicity and antiaircraft fire are synonymous.

All jobs don’t list loss of dignity and self-respect as a required skill set. Plus, according to the GOP, jobs are not something that “the blacks” know nothing about. I am sure the Donald will “learn” them about those things when he is elected president. (Troll alert: grammar intentionally incorrect)

According to an Economic Policy Institute analysis from last summer:

“51.3 percent of young black high school graduates are underemployed, compared with 36.1 percent of young Hispanic high school grads and 33.8 percent of white high school grads. This means a significant share of young high school graduates in all racial groups either want a job or have a job that does not provide the hours they need. A majority of young black high school graduates wish they could work more but can’t because of weak job opportunities.”

Clearly, Trump is right, young black high school graduates face very high unemployment, but Hispanic and white youth don’t exactly have a bed of roses. We need to find ways to employ young people generally. That isn’t easy.

As to black youth specifically, we need to better understand what is keeping 1/2 of them them unemployed. Is it lack of skills or opportunity or both. It is an issue our society needs to address. Of course, our society is not organized to solve social problems.

Yea what 8% is predominate…yea…

I think she may have a point.

“Trump is currently polling in the single digits among black voters.”

In fact, you could count the percentage of African-American votes for Trump with a single digit of your hand.

“Mr. Trump deserves credit,”

Only Deutschebank and Putin’s oligarch puppets seem to agree with her on that.

These people are just… delusional or crazy or both.

And that single digit represents a giant middle one from African Americans, who realize perfectly well what’s at stake in this election.

Every once in awhile the office gets together and discusses how difficult it must be being black in America.

Trump watched some reruns of Good Times, a couple of 90s hood movies, and binge watched The Wire and said “ok, I’m ready to go talk to the blacks”

So, I don’t recall Trump going to black communities at all really. He seems to be sticking to rural white voter type audiences who support him anyway. He’s talking to black folks from a distance and not very well at all.
