NPR was quietly taken over by GWBush people during his administration. It was, in part, a way to keep NPR federal funding but it ruined NPR’s integrity. They moved a bit closer to FOX Entertainment’s way of presenting the news: We hand bullhorns to each side, we sit there, you listen.
Thank you! Same goes for that Marcus Bachmann dude.
And what’s the hyper-vigilant obsession with cake by these wingnuts anyways?
Everyone fucking loves cake.
mealy mouthed: (insert definition), as in Tony Perkins.
Well, you mentioned it and I deliver. Better have a wet suit and watch out for the poison spurs on the hind feet. Ouch.
This post should be copied and included in the amicus briefs to any court of law that is reviewing such laws. Thank you!!
German Chocolate Cake – Yum!
I dont know who is going to hell faster…Tony Perkins or Franklin Graham…possibly they will stroll hand in hand to the gates of hell!
Tony Perkins is clearly gay.
being forced to participate in a ceremony
The Bishop’s pointy white hat, Mrs. Goldberg…
Yes, that one…Put it on, put it on!
(Bwhahahaha)
Let me drink it your more catholic tastes Mrs. G, your religious humiliation…
(Bwhahahahahahah!!!)
Nothing like Tony Perkins offering to help with your tar baby.
It’s just baking a cake to you. From his point of view, it may be something else entirely. If he doesn’t want to bake a cake for a gay wedding, that’s his business, as long as he doesn’t interfere with the people who do bake cakes for gay weddings." He should be free to sit on his ass, do nothing, and watch the money go to the cake baker next door.
Forcing him to take an action, to do something, in a ceremony against his religious beliefs is just that, forcing him to do something against his religious beliefs.
He’s just as loopy on this as Pence. “This isn’t allowing discrimination. It’s just about letting businesses discriminate without any penalty.”
Yes, for years now the joke has been that NPR stands for Nice Polite Republicans…
And what would those beliefs be? Upon what are they based? Where in the bible, or the Quran for that matter, does it say that baking a cake for gays is an abomination unto the lord? Or could it be that these poor, benighted “religious” folks are making it up as they go along. If holy books are the word of; insert god/goddess of choice here; how can we sure we’ve got the correct god or goddess. There are, after all, quite a number of them. If religious manifestos are the work of men and women, then they are subject to the analysis and criticism of men and women. No one gets an intellectual “free pass.” This is not disrespectful, it is critical thinking.
Sadly, I don’t value your opinion.
Living in W. Mi. I’ve grown accustomed to Dutch Chocolate Torte myself as a special treat…but any torte with heart-clogging buttercream will do.
In general however, I’m a Rugalach kinda gal.
Geez Louise…At one time everyone could’ve thought all cake was gay…but not now. Everyone knows there are gay cakes and not-so-gay cakes today.
Come on people, get with the times.
“We must ensure that religious business owners are not forced by the
government to participate in a same-sex ceremony,” Perkins said. “What
RFRA is intended to do is to protect people from government
discrimination.”
What? Apparently Perkins wants to keep the law as it’s written.
Sorry, but you are wrong on this. If you offer goods and/or services to the public, they must be available to all of the public. One definition of discrimination it to pick and choose who you will and will not serve based on some hang up or belief you have. If you profit in the realm of commerce, you play by the rules of commerce. Period.
And that kind of discrimination codified into a right wing religiosity law has no place in our society.
Come on, Tony. Give the man a cake…You know you want to.
