Discussion: Tom Price: Individual Mandate Repeal Will 'Harm' Insurance Exchanges

There are already 3 or 4 million more uninsured since Trump took office. That number will go back up to pre-ACA levels if Republicans have their way.

I think if Rump’s appointments were the right people for the job, and were doing a great job, Then the charter flights and fancy tables wouldn’t be begrudged. But for the actual person he is, and the actual job he does, the floor would be a waste if Ben Carson had to eat off the floor. The trips would be a waste if Tom Price had to kayak and bicycle his way there, harvesting seaweed and wild mushrooms along the way.

Some other bad things about republican laws republicans have admitted to

What does he do to rack up these frequent flier miles?
He is always flying high…

What this subhuman whore is saying is that doing away with the individual mandates would “Harm” Doctor’s wallets. May he and his Doctor whore wife burn in “Hell”.

He was all in for repealing ACA, wasn’t he? Don’t care much what he has to say now.

Wasn’t harming the insurance exchanges the whole point? Isn’t that one of the greatest motivating forces and goals of the Trump admin and GOP Congress? I"m so confused!

Does he think that’s a good thing or a bad thing?

Nothing like a little food and shelter insecurity to inspire Americans to be better citizens.

Asshole.

That’s all that really needs to be said, though to elucidate for the sake of all of TPM’s right-wing readers (ha), I could modify that to “yet another hypocritical GOP asshole who vaguely modifies his position in the general direction of sanity once out of office”.

Wow, wow, wow!!! And Rubio’s admission about tax “reform” (aka cuts for wealthy).

“The individual mandate is one of those things that actually is driving up the cost for the American people in terms of coverage,”

vs.

repeal of Obamacare’s individual mandate "drives up the cost for other folks within that market,”

In both Trumpistan and the broader GOP cognitive dissonance reigns supreme.

Wow, who could have ever anticipated that??

What an asshole.

And ironically it could be that repealing the individual mandate makes repealing the ACA more complicated politically, since the mandate was the most unpopular thing about the ACA.

Too little too late you corrupt little fuckwad.

No shit, Dick Tracy!

This story was in the SF Chronicle and I could’ve cried. The woman they feature in the story has a face, a name and life she’s trying to manage

Cindy Werling pays 30 percent of her government disability check as rent, and the voucher — commonly called Section 8 — picks up the rest. After paying for utilities, medical bills, laundry and other incidentals, she’s left with about $200 a month for food, clothing and anything else that pops up. That could eventually drop to $150 under the reforms proposed this week by Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.
