Discussion: Tom Cole: Trump's Proposed Cuts To NIH, CDC Are 'Short-Sighted'

And the newly-built private prisons, too.

The thing none of them can explain when they try to justify increasing the defense budget an additional $54 billion, a figure that easily dwarfs the combined assets of all terrorist groups, is how this improves fighting the non-existent global terrorism threat. Other than deploying special forces as needed (and given the recent debacle in Yemen, that’s always going to be a crap shoot), fighting terrorism is primarily muscular detective work. But because we will never be able to recruit enough locals to supply sufficient information, the best thing to do is gradually disengage from those countries having the greatest problems domestically, which also happen to be countries with the most repressive governments.

While it is disingenuous to insist that Islam does not play a role in this fight, the broader problem is no different than what was going on in N. Ireland. That had little to do with religion and everything to do with political and economic control.

Oh wait, I think it’s supposed to work like this:
After the corps and our fearless leaders wash all of their ill-gotten funds in our lakes and rivers, they declare bankruptcy and disappear. Then we wait for the next Democratic administration to clean it up. Sure, a few people will get sick and some might die, but they’re just the little people.

Then he declared bankruptcy and writes the whole thing off anyway. He considers that being smart.

This is purely a hunch but after the FBI reveal to Feinstein and Grassley that left them shaken and speechless, Something tells me there WAS some surveillance on trump - either by us or by the Russians - and it implicated trump in something very serious.

So maybe in a backwards way, trump was right to be paranoid. Of course, he wouldn’t be making accusations based on anything factual, just from gossip and rumors from the RWNJ conspiracy theory slime pit, but maybe he was accidentally correct.

It’s amazing how some people seem to show some glimmer of common sense on a few important things, but seem dumb as rocks on pretty much everything else.

Not until your snark meter is fixed.

Does our wise-assing really have to be so close to the truth?

It really takes all the fun out of it.
