Discussion: Tom Arnold Gave WSJ Recording Of Michael Cohen Retreating From Guilty Plea

Nearly everybody in prison is innocent. If you don’t believe me, just ask them.

Sorry but unless there is actual evidence to the contrary I don’t take what Cohen told Arnold at face value.

“You are a hero and you’re not alone.”

Then goes and gives the tape to the WSJ “for your review.” This Trump Nightmare we are in. So many Scumbags…

If this is friendship I suppose I need to reassess what friendship is.

To be honest I only trust Cohen when he is talking bad about Trump, honor among thiefs and all that.

Your sympathy for Cohen is misplaced. He’s also a douchebag. And a tax cheat. And a convicted felon. No takey-backsies.

That doesn’t make Arnold any less of a douchebag, but once again Cohen showed bad judgment even associating with Arnold. ONLY THE BEST PEOPLE!

It’s hardly surprising that Cohen is feeling ambiguous about what’s happened to him. He had a perfectly lucrative career going as a conduit for Russian and Ukrainian mob money being laundered through the Trump organization before his boss threw him under the bus. He’s feeling hard done by but considering his record of threatening people on Trump’s behalf I can’t generate much sympathy for him though. That being said nobody deserves to be stabbed in the back by self serving scum like Tom Arnold. Cohen’s choices in friends give us a pretty clear view of his lack of judgment.

Judge, he was just kvetching. It is like Twitter. But for alter kockers…

I find him pretty entertaining in a comedic dingus sort of way but it is a profound statement on how freakin extremely stupid, amongst other more serious extremes, things have become that he’s involved even tangentially.

If he had been smart he would have retreated to Argentina when he had the chance.

Meaningless. Of course he’d try to minimize what he did when talking to a friend. Or Tom Arnold.

There’s real news out there, people. Let’s not waste our time on this guff.

Tom is fucking greasy like his Trailer Park Girl nanny.

Geez, I don’t know what to make of this story. I find myself having a hard time rooting for either one.

All I know is that Cohen is headed to Club Fed in Otisville, NY and Manafort is headed to Club Dread in Canaan, PA. Manafort is headed to a penitentiary that has a real violent history too. Nice touch there, Mueller.

Still waiting for the Al Franken stuff that Tom kept saying he had.

I think I’d watch how much information about myself I give up online. With tRump’s history, if he gets pissed off at Arnold, he’s vindictive enough to sic his private thugs (is that the secret service now?) on you too, just because you once knew him.

One of the hardest things for me to process in all this bullshit is that people who are on ‘my side’ of the political social spectrum can also be turn out to be scumbags. Or at least self-interested and blinded by ambition, or full of righteous hate and anger.
The lesson I’m taking away is make no one into a hero - they don’t really exist, just people who occasionally do brave things but are just as capable of shit behavior as anyone else.
Trying to keep my emotions out of this, which is hard. But I believe emotional reactions play right into trump’s tiny hands. So, uh, live long and prosper I guess.

But there are a lot of totally unambiguous villain scumbags. With few to none redeeming values. And most of them, in the post Reagan Era, tend to be Modern Dixiecrat Republicans.
