Discussion: TK Projected To Win Minnesota GOP Caucus

Rubio: Its kind of sad, I was doing so well coming in third. This tastes like defeat.

Yes, electing Bachmann to any position of responsibility is foolish. But there are a couple of important things to remember about her election victories.

  1. She was not elected to any statewide office.
  2. She was elected to the House of Representatives in a somewhat gerrymandered district made up of Twin Cities suburbs.
  3. Despite being in a district gerrymandered in her favor, her margin of victory in 2012 (her last election) was 1.2%. Moreover, her margins of victory had steadily shrunk from her initial win in 2006.

The voters in Minnesota occasionally do things that make you go, huh? They elected Jesse Ventura to the Governor’s office – and that was a statewide election. But voters everywhere are prone to occasionally do things that make you wonder about their decision making process. Ohio re-elected John Kasich after he was handed a big defeat in a referendum on one of his signature issues two years prior. Wisconsin failed to recall little Scotty Walker.

Finally, let’s remember what Rubes won last night: a Republican primary caucus in a field that more closely resembles an elementary school class president election.

HAHAHA!! Minnesota…much like the liberal ā€œparticipation trophyā€!!! LMAO! Minnesota and 2bucks will get ya cup of coffee kid! Get out of the race and let the real candidates actually debate!

I hear burkas are petty fashionable in Minnesota!

I was being sarcastic.

Rubio may be the most delusional politician that has come along in the last 40 years. He (and his establishment cheerleaders) actually think they are going to ā€˜broker the convention’. If they do that, the GOP would be destroyed even more effectively and thoroughly than The Donald can accomplish. The GOP is screwed. The party leaders have to decide who destroys it - them of The Donald.

TK? You mean Marco Rubio…

I’m not saying, that’s not true. I think they desperately need a breath of fresh air to turn their whole platform around, like they claimed they were planning after 2012. Trump’s nomination will either force them into that ā€œFirst Stepā€ or it will break the party altogether and force a new one to rise from the ashes.

But for the night, the hopes that Rubio would force Cruz out finally, to get into a slightly less hopeless one on one? Dashed.

Cruz, miraculously coming from behind to force Rubio out? Nope.

Trump crushing both so badly that he’s the clear nominee and can start pulling towards the center in preparation for the general? Not really.

Instead we get at least 2 more weeks of the brutal Republican self-slaughter.
