Discussion for article #234205
So fully and completely complying with State Depart records requests in a more timely and complete manner than the previous 4 Secretary of State’s have to date (who received the same request) for doing the exact same thing is a “problem” now?
According to who?
There are no e-mail problems. Except the ones invented by her detractors. She broke no rules, regulations, or laws. There where no rules or regulations when she was Secretary of State. That has since been changed and John Kerry conducts all his business from a government account.
Joe Scarborough knows that, Trey Gowdy knows that, and Darrel Issa Knows that, but you won’t be hearing them mention that fact anytime soon.
Lets start with the day her non state.gov email account was set up. So for more that four years thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people sent email to her private email address. And a good many of those were probably sent by journalist and political rivals. So after years of sending her emails not one person noticed that she was using a non governmental email address until now? This is as manufactured as a “crisis” can be. And yet the lemming-like media just eats it right out of the hands of the GOP operatives who cooked this up in the first place, knowing full that others, such as Jeb Bush, have been using private email addresses as well. The forth estate is deader than dead.
It wasn’t a secretive email account. How could it be secret when she email the POTUS and he answered back on the email account that is supposed to be secret. LOL.
Chris Matthews knows that.
Frankly I think Chris Matthews has gotten so lazy. I don’t think he does any research on his subject matter before he starts blabbing about it. It is painfully apparent some nights. I know he was not informed enough to call out the guest he had on who was lying about this stuff just last night
And TPM just HAS TO join in the media dogpile over Hillary doing more and being mroe transparent than any of her predecessors, yet its a "problem:.
Left out of the timeline: 2009 NARA Requirements:
“Agencies that allow employees to send and receive official electronic mail messages using a system not operated by the agency must ensure that Federal records sent or received on such systems are preserved in the appropriate agency recordkeeping system.”
The State Dept then sent out a memo (still 2009) to all State Department people shortly after Hillary took office saying to comply with those rules, and even said “Avoid conducting official Department business from your personal business accounts”. She then proceeded to conduct ALL her business from a personal email account, the opposite of what she was told to avoid doing. And never archived them per the 2009 Requirements.
No laws broken. No scandal. But REAL stupid.
Regarding “The AP found that the server was registered under a pseudonym” – didn’t the “pseudonym” turn out to be a typo of the name Eric Hoteham, a real person who worked for Clinton, no pseudonym, just an example of lazy reporting by the AP? And didn’t the AP silently change their report without issuing a retraction? If so, then you are propagating a harmful mistake.
Let me get this straight – democratic sites are expected to censor unflattering news about our presumptive nominee?
Once Matthews has decided to go whichever way the media wind is blowing, he doesn’t allow people with differing views to be on his show. He only has had NY Times, AP, and WaPo reporters on to repeat the same attack lines on Hillary over and over and over, for at least the first half of his show. The repetition by itself is obnoxious. Thank goodness for PBS.
