That couldn’t be more wrong. T rump deserves to be dishonorably mentioned 24/7 by every human being on the planet.
Overnight, the original resonses 30,000. Suddenly we learn we are not alone the norms shift a bit more slowly.
The irony, in my mind, is that the Liar in Chief loses out to the very women he repeatedly calls liars.
It will be interesting if 2018 brings women who are under threat of breaching Tramp’s NDA’s just say fuck it and come forward with their stories of how they were paid off to stay silent.
Yep.
And you are certainly right that the women he paid to be silent should come out and tell the truth. And dare him to try to get the money back. Let’s hope!!!
OT
“We’re getting near that beautiful Christmas season that people don’t talk about anymore. They don’t use the word Christmas because it’s not politically correct. You go to department stores and they’ll say ‘Happy New Year,’ or they’ll say other things and it’ll be red, they’ll have it painted. But they don’t say — well guess what? We’re saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again.”
— Comrade Cockholster, Time magazine Person of the Year runner-up
Notice anything wrong with this picture? Just kidding. Irony is dead; hypocrisy is alive and well.
Dear Trumpski
Rather than name him as runner-up, Time should have just thrown Trump into the category of “and those who were accused of sexual assault and harassment.” Throw him in with all the others, take away his special status.
That was my thought. Have they ever mentioned “runner ups” before?
The Kochs have nothing to do with Time magazine.
One of their subsidiaries helped finance the purchase of Time, Inc. by Meredith Corp.
The Koch brothers have no say in the editorial policies of the Meredith Corporation—nor will they have.
I haven’t read the article but I hope they give Hillary some acknowledgements as well. I firmly believe that the journalistic assault she received from the Press, the embarrassing loss she suffered by the known sexual assaulter and rapist Trump and the non-stop sexism and misogyny directed at her (from every side) over the entire course of the campaign is what prompted a lot of women to start coming out on this issue.
The Person of the Year is someone who had a lot of impact–-for good or ill—in the past year.
That’s why Hitler, Stalin, and other assorted assholes were chosen.
I already read the press release. Suffice it to say, I think over time the editorial staff will figure out where their bread is buttered.
The Kochs have no seat on the board of directors, and own less than 5% of Meredith stock.
They have no power whatsoever.
Too late. We’ve already been fucked over bigly, starting on Nov. 8, 2016.
Having a sexual assaulter coming behind these people as runner-up – ick, eew, yuck!
I’ve been wondering when this will happen and not just by women he harassed/assaulted but everyone he’s ever abused and witnessed his abuse as an employee. When hundreds of people can come forward and describe abuses amounting to criminal misconduct (whether of a sexual nature or labor law violations) I just don’t see any court forcing an individual to comply with NDA.
OK…I get they were ‘slamming’ Donnie but I thought Time’s ‘stand’ was they don’t comment on the runner ups? All this does is piss off the Right Wing and then they buy the magazine and turn it into ANOTHER hate rag for the Conservatives.
They missed an opportunity with this cover, which would have given Trump the recognition he so desperately needs. He should be seen lurking behind the women, just as he was during the debate with Hillary. Perhaps someone at TPM with photoshop chops can do that for us.
I’m going with, they mentioned Trounce as the runner-up just to keep him included in the sexual harassment conversation. A vague jab and a way to allude to the fact that he is one the prime reasons why these women are now persons of the year albeit for such a sad reckoning.
Never let it die down that the POTUS is just as guilty as Weinstein et al but hasn’t faced the music ‘yet’.
