Closed casket. Guess they couldn’t get the stake out of his heart.

Thousands

Sorry, but without photographic evidence I’m going to have to chalk this up to media’s inability to grasp numbers. CBS reported “lines stretched around the block” but without picture evidence. And, the more I think about it, the “block” reference doesn’t really work on Capitol Hill unless not so trusty old Jan Crawford actually meant a line looping the SCOTUS building.

The mass is at the National Shrine, not at the SCOTUS building. Nowhere near Capitol Hill.

I’ll never forget him.

The lines I mentioned were at the SCOTUS viewing. How could CBS report on lines that hadn’t happened yet? Good Lord, think man.

I was reading the headline: “Thousands to Remember Justice…” I haven’t really been paying attention - I thought the mass might be happening as we speak.

Apparently, on a personal level, people loved the guy, even those with diametrically opposed views. But his influence on the Court has been singularly malign. He did untold damage to the interests of the American people and to our gradually disappearing democracy. Glad he’s gone, whether by death or retirement.

I found that strange too…post text says those “thousands” are “expected” but CBS, without pictures, reported lines stretched around an, inferred city block that doesn’t really exist on CapHill. Magical reporting, I guess. Have to read and listen nowadays with a decoder ring…

Maybe we’ll be surprised, and there will be a Million RWNJ March.

No it’s all part of the very subtle fluffing/anti fluffing media does…like old Time magazine, if you were liked you got fluffed. Joe Blow said with a smile or Joe Blow muttered halfheartedly…Blow, a muscular former athlete or Blow, a stocky college jock.
Death by a thousand cuts was once a Luce specialty…

Joe Blow whispered, sotto voce… Blow, an aficianado of the male form…

It’s their party and they’ll die if they want to,
Die if they want to.
You would die too if it happened to you…

The mass is to be here. The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

Send his ashes to a pig farm. The sooner the better!

Today I’m hoping:

  1. That Clarence Thomas does his usual thing and follows Scalia’s lead.

  2. That partisanship hasn’t totally corrupted Judgment Day.

Are we sure he’s dead?

I’m watching some of the coverage including the Eucharist. Let’s just say it’s a good thing Trump is not there considering his comments about wine and crackers.

Uncle Clarence Thomas is will soon be milking this for all its worth. What an utter’ ~snort!~ disaster Scalia was and Thomas is.

“What am I gonna’ do? What AM I gonna’ do?”

The headline should read :

             Millions Can't Forget

Breaking: “Republicans are pushing for Roberts to be allowed to cast a Scalia vote by proxy, even though Fat Tony is still dead as the proverbial doornail. While supporters of this plan agree it would not be wise in the general case, Scalia’s predictable ‘worst possible’ fu*king stance on absolutely every issue makes this an accurate proxy system for the ‘greatest dead justice’ in Supreme Court history of the world. And, if necessary, Nancy Reagan will allow them to use her Ouji board with which she communicates with St. Ronnie the Messiah.”

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh’! Take off your hats. Scalia’s body has arrived at the Great Hall:
