This is not to persuade any objective person. This is so their followers can endlessly repeat “They provided eyewitnesses who prove it’s all lies!” As vindication it’s ridiculous, but in post-truth social media judo, it’s a perfectly effective move for their purposes. This is really very simple. Trump promised he would file lawsuits against all his accusers, to prove they were liars. He has filed no such lawsuits. The only reasonable inference is that Trump did not follow through on his threat because the accusers are telling the truth.
