Trump wonât quell concerns. Isnât a queller. Doesnât quell, ever, if he can help it.
I donât understand the reluctance of the GOP to endorse Trump. His policies, his positions, his moral outrage are EXACTLY those of the Republican mainstream. Are there no mirrors in Congress?
Paul Ryan owes Donald Trump an unconditional apology.
There was no need to demean, insult, degrade and publicly humiliate Donald Trump, the current conservative nominee, to further his own presidential bid in the future. Pretty and ripped Paul Ryan had the option of keeping his piehole shut.
Rule #1âŚDonald Trump is a con artistâŚ
Trump as Jack Torrance; âReince Iâm home!â. This is so much fun to watchâŚas long as the rubes donât elect the asshole.
NeverTrump vs NeverHillary reminds me of the different worst case scenarios for a blind date: a man worries about being laughed at and rejected; a woman worries about being raped and murdered.
If electing Hillary is four more years of Obama, what does that mean? A litany of imagined or self-inflicted catastrophes, like who goes into which bathroom, and being ridiculed for being bigots.
In contrast, Trump might destroy the dollar, and ignite nuclear proliferation. And thatâs just in the first 100 days.
Trump is Jack Reacher wiping the floor with a bunch of deadbeats in a truckstop cafe.

The headline of this piece on the main page is âWhoâs Your Daddy!?â. Itâs pretty goddamn obvious Trump has become TPMâs sugar daddy.
Lio, your objections donât make any sense to me. Drumpfâs movement and controversy are the news, and this is a news site. If youâre looking for kitten pictures, there are better places.
So hereâs my question around all this. Cruz has said heâs suspended his campaign, which to me means he isnât going to spend any more money on it. But heâs still on ballots in the upcoming primary states, yes? Whaât to keep people from casting votes for him anyway just as an âup yoursâ to Drumpf? If enough do, and this is wishful thinking, could it not still be a contentious, if not contested, convention?
Oh, Trump can act presidential. TheRealLucifer canât.
I donât have a problem with TPM covering Trump. What I have a problem with is TPM covering Trump to the exclusion of the presumptive Democratic nominee. Based on TPMâs coverage, what can you tell me about the Clinton campaign?
Mediator , not moderator.
Apart from the âfactâ that she wants to abolish the Second Amendment, not much. But in actuality, thatâs a good thing. We havenât heard much from her since the Woman Card. The Clinton campaign is lying doggo while the GOP rips itself to shreds with only minor encouragement from people like Elizabeth Warren.and several twitter video montages of the GOP meltdown Thereâs a basic rule of electioneering: âNever get in the way of a perfectly good train wreck.â The Clinton campaign doesnât have to destroy the GOP. Donald Trump is doing it for them.
Paul Ryan publicly humiliated Donald Trump. This should help both Ryanâs and Trumpâs presidential campaigns.
How will reporting on the Clinton campaign get in the way of that train wreck?
Well, there are two things that hold the GOP together:
-
They hate Obama in the White House, AND
-
They hate Hillary even more than they hate Obama.
All this talk about a âdysfunctional familyâ with Trump at the head of the table is bunk. They are solidly behind him!
Thatâs all an act. Watch by the end of the week when Ryan falls in line and blisters Hillary.
That its message is consistent?
Seriously, I canât speak for TPM, and I will be first on board any bashing of media shallowness.
One aspect of the reporting, though, is that itâs widespread. Not just American media, Trump is soaking up channel space around the world. That canât mean conspiracy or global ineptitude, but rather an indication that something deeper is going on.
Maybe not the same concern everywhere. Perhaps Germany on what it means about fascism or the world economy, perhaps the Mideast for Muslim relations, perhaps South America for hemispheric prosperity, perhaps Asia for trade and business.
I hate to see news monopolized by the hourly vacillation of a conman seeking only the airtime itself, having no substance to offer. The fact that he hasnât been rejected by a conservative movement which claims to represent everything Trump is not, however, is news, in my opinion.
I think weâre all trying to figure out what it means.
