One wonders where the rebuttals from the likes of Cheney and Rumsfeld to the new “Ooops! We made a mistake!” rhetoric among the Republican contenders has disappeared to. Certainly, the architcts to this great, mistaken war have some defense for themselves! Even John Bolton said it was the right thing to do. Why no press to the justifications for the war from those who got us into the war? Better yet, why not just ask W. if knowing what we know now, would he still have sought authorization from Congress to use military force in Iraq. I do remember him failing to think of any mistakes he’d made as POTUS during some interview in his 2nd term. Was it a good idea, in hindsight? Let’s have the architcts conduct an internal autopsy on their own failed logic.I’ll bet none of them say wooops!
