Too negative a take: Jason’s specialty is long form gonzo reportage parody, and that’s not well served from the pilot’s seat as TDS host.

A more positive take: doesn’t this suggest it’s most likely Sam Bee will take over as host? And the timing couldn’t be better: she can do ‘channeling woman running for president’ and then ‘woman president’ for years.

I really hope you’re right. I love Jason Jones and Samantha Bee and Ms. Bee was my first choice to take over the anchor chair.

Good for Jones and Bee. They are terrific. I have to agree Samantha Bee a good choice to take over the anchor chair if they can’t get Tina Fey or Amy Poehler.

There is only one show in existence that a Jason Jones remake would be worthy of.

Batman. The original, 1960s TV series. (No cameos by Burt Ward or Adam West (PLEASE!) but it would be amazingly novel to show 78-year old Julie Newmar in a catsuit … if she’s willing. (The rest of the time would be fine with a Jessica Alba, thank you.

Sam Bee’s like both rolled up and baked inside a big Madeline Kahn pastry. And I’d expect both Fey and Poehler would agree.

I like Samantha Bee and Jessica Williams too, but I think Aasiv Mandvi would be best. Remember when he got the GOP operative to admit the PA voter ID law was all about keeping Dems from voting?

I agree with you on Aasiv Mandvi, but I take exception to all the comments on here in favor of Samantha Bee. There is something mean about her humor. Jon is never mean, but he is cutting, and biting and insightful.

Yeah, I think her and Jones are the worst two on that show. I’d like Asif or the great Kristen Schaal if they picked a successor in house. Jessica Williams is maybe the most talented but I think she is a little inexperienced to host.
