Discussion: Texas Guv Slams Roberts: SCOTUS 'Deserves To Be Swept Up Into' Politics

Abbott must have run out of navel lint.

Actually, I agree, Roberts has politicized the Court. His allowing 4 - 4 ties and 5 -4 decisions on controversial issues proves it. The Chief Justice should be able to mitigate these situations.

Abbott said the court had “shed its clothing as being guardians of the law.”

Do you have any idea how long it’s going to take to get that image out of my brain….

So the Court is either 100% supporting the reactionary right wing agenda, or they are ‘political’. These people are never satisfied. Gore vs Bush should have satisfied them, but they are back, greedy as ever.

And here I thought the major milestone in the Court’s perception of being politicized was Bush v. Gore.

AbbottActualQuote ™: “Roberts was our Bitch. And instead of taking it like a Bitch is supposed to, He gave it Back. He F*cked The Conservative Cause.”

Unfortunately for Abbott, the Judiciary Branch is only their Bitch 98% of the time.

Oh, please, please just leave the Union by secession and we’ll be done with your idiocy! We’ll take Austin and leave the rest of that puking hulk behind!

Is this the same Gregg Abbott who burned the rubber on his wheel chair rushing to strip minorities of voting rights the same week Roberts gutted the Civil Rights Act. Somehow I didn’t hear him complaining about that clearly political act, or about Citizens United.

Bush, Perry, Abbott. To find a next governor more stupid than the last three, Texas will have to dig up Bill Clements and re-animate his corpse.

STFU you hypocritical moron…we’ve had to hear about activist judges for 7+ years while YOUR party refuses to confirm them and now you’re advocating for an ACTIVIST…so you can get what YOU want? What a jerk.

Just more of the Standard Republican Conservative Stump Speech;

You know: “If I agree with it, it was Consitutional and blessed by God!” “If I disagree with it, it is TYRANNY and the spawn of the Devil!”

The actions of a Republican appointed SCOTUS Justice justifies Republican refusal to have confirmation hearings and a confirmation vote on a Dem nominee for SCOTUS? Got it.

I wonder if Tom DeLay is giving Abbott advice? Good God, they really have some dumb mo-fer’s in Texas!

We have the Republicans of the 2000 election to thank for this, Bush vs Gore. The Republicans scammed that presidential election just as much as they will try to scam the next election as well as politicizing the next SCOTUS selection. They truly deserve to loose all of these next rounds!

The closer we get to November, the more we’re going to see BS like this.
Both sides want to use the empty 9th chair to super-charge their electorate, but this sort of blatant dishonesty is much more effective on Fox-Rot brains.

Are you implying that they aren’t already, wheels?

Build a wall around Austin, then we can start air dropping crucial commodities like art supplies and musical instruments.

And of course move the capital out of the controlled zone.

Always with the GOP projection–their worst insult is “That guy will do what I already did in secret, or what I would do if i could get away with it.”

What does he even mean by “swept up into politics”?
