Discussion: Texas Court Will Rule On Voter ID Law That's Already Been Struck Down

Discussion for article #235753

Backers of the law said in briefs there was no direct evidence that the law was enacted with a discriminatory purpose. They said the opponents of the law have failed to prove that it prevented anyone from voting.

The same was successfully argued in courts for decades about the correlation between smoking and cancer. Eventually, smoking cigarets was proven to be a smoking gun, but the delay in rightful judgement prematurely killed many Americans and indirectly harmed many more via worsened public health and squandered private/public spending.

This and every such voter ID law is such a smoking gun!
