Discussion: Texans Call On Supreme Court To Block Voter ID Law

Discussion for article #228859

But but but CHAOS!!! They’d have to “retrain” 25,000 polling-bots by telling them all “you can’t ask for ID”!!! WAY TOO COMPLICATED FOR YOUR AVERAGE TEXAN!!! TOO MUCH STUPID, SO LITTLE TIME!!!

BTW, I hereby issue a pre-emptive FUCK YOU to Justice Kennedy.

Actually, that may well be too complicated for the average Texan to follow. I mean, it’s an instruction that doesn’t involve shooting someone or something . . .

I believe I said as much hehe. Perhaps if they just shoot all their poll workers in the leg and then write “you may not ask for ID” on the bandages, then the pain will remind them.

One might wonder how many polling places there are in TX and how hard it would actually be to have each of them put up a sign that says “NO ID REQUIRED.” I’m guessing 9 days is enough time to get that done AND find a replacement method of interfering with youth and minority voters.

I recommend a tattoo on the palm of their hands. Less bloody than shooting them, which also would jam up ERs statewide.

Hooray for Congressman Marc Veasey of TX-33!
Puh-LEEEEZ, folks, desist with the “average Texan” trash-talk! Texas is NOT a deep-red state, esp not its many cities and its expansive border counties along the Rio Grande. This draconian anti-democracy law was pushed through the Lege precisely because the majority of its legal residents who are eligible to vote no longer agrees with the GOP platform.

I think they should save time and trouble and just add 600,000 votes to the democrats side. Problem solved. You know 'those people" vote for the democrats. With this method they do not have to show up on election day and expose all the republicans to “obola”. Racist assholes.

You expect them to a) either find a dictionary, a magic marker and some unused paper and hand letter such a sign or, worse yet, figure out how to use both a computer and a printer to print it out, b) figure out how to use scotch tape, and c) discern the appropriate height at which to place such sign? In just nine days? No, I’m sorry, it’s just too much to ask! The risk of chaos and confusion is just too high. No, we can’t risk it. Better to crap on minority members right to exercise the single most important fundamental constitutional right in our system for one or two elections until we get this matter sorted out.

Until it is proven otherwise…

Nobody said it had to be spelled correctly. I mean, all “those folks” can’t read anyway and talk in ebola all the time anyway, amirite?

No, I’m sorry, it’s just not possible. Chaos and confusion are the only possible result. I’m sure five justices will agree with me on this.

And that’s the rub, ain’t it? 5 justices probably will agree on it. Sigh.

Well, at least we can run around citing the decision as a SCOTUS decree that all of TX is fucking retarded.

Prediction – Final score: 5-4, Team Fascist

That is, if they even bother to take up the case.
