Somewhere, the ghost of Clarence Darrow is thinking to himself… “f*cking Tennessee”…

Ridiculous.

It reads like it violates federal law.

And how is that possible?

There are some scary ass states in this country…

“…in cases of incest and race…”? I’d expect that from Alabama, but Tennessee? (Proofreaders, anyone?)

Yeah, I saw that at first and was like…what? Was Tennessee still protecting the right to abortion if it turns out you’re having a black baby? Took about four seconds until I realized: Typo.

So…am I crazy, or is this a backdoor method of nullifying federal laws? I mean, this doesn’t change anything, unless the plan is to pass an anti-abortion bill, have it go to the Supreme Court, and then have them declare that Tennessee’s Constitution overrides the US Constitution.

Short of that, this doesn’t sound like anything but symbolism; though this is the first I’ve heard of this, so maybe I’m missing something.

It does; Roe v. Wade is still the law of the land.

This amendment was designed to set up a United States Supreme Court case aimed at repealing Roe v. Wade. The question is whether the legislature will go as far as the backers of this amendment may want to go.

Probably the point. They want it to go to the SCOTUS. It will not really hold up or be enforceable for a while.

Ah, they refuse to let sex education in the schools, they won’t pay for birth control, but when women start dying of botched illegal abortions it will be their own damn fault for getting pregnant, the sluts.

Meanwhile, put another notch in the bedpost there, Billy Bob.

Attention all rednecks…get thyself to the Tennessee to impregnate young girls with your seed. (I’m surprised they didn’t also include an exclusion for nonwhite women).

I think the sub-head on this banner should read, “…incest and rape…” not “incest and race”.

OK, so they’ve declared that a woman’s Constitutional right to choice doesn’t apply in Tennessee. How did Tennessee’s ballot measure declaring that it’s really still OK to own slaves do?

Before maligning all residents of Tennessee and calling all of us stupid rednecks, please note that 46% of us voted AGAINST this.

I beg to differ.
I once lived thru the 50’s and 60’s
retired here and am shocked at the under education value of the population. No wonder they lost the war down here. There good at BS, lies, deceptions etc with a way with words. Such as adm #1 and it’s stupid math deception. OH, they put in the supremes for 8 years and then the voter decides if they stay or go. really???
moving back to reality soon, 2014

THey just don’t talk about it outside of church

To late, most have already been impregnanted for this school season. check back around june
