Maybe all college students in TN should take a gap year off like Malia Trump is?
You canāt influence crazy people. GOP-run states with lax gun laws have the highest rates of gun/violence death, and they refuse to accept that the gun ownership is correlated with general violence rates and gun ownership. They screamā¦Chicago! Illinois isnāt in the top 20 for gun violence/deaths, but Alaska #1, Arizona, Montana, and Wyoming are, and Chicago isnāt in any of those states. Yes, Vermont and NH have lax gun laws and low gun violence rates, but Northern New England has low violence rates, in general. The gun nuts canāt understand how itās all connected.
And why President Trump chose atomic bombs over diplomacyā¦if anyone survives a President Trump.
I would encourage her to make that move, I live in East TN. When I see an idiot wearing a firearm, especially when they have a rifle across their back, I head the other way.
NOTā¦
This is a typical Mr. Smirk moveā¦
It gives āsurviving collegeā a whole new meaning.
The National Rifle Association had argued against allowing individual institutions to opt out of the guns-on-campus bill.
ā¦
The NRA should be accounted an accessory to any murder or shooting that occurs on campus.
Thereās a refrain from deep in my memory
"Born on a mountain top in Tennessee.
Greatest state in the land of the free
snip
Davey, Davey Crockett, King of the wild frontierā¦
No doubt. āItās a constitutional right! No private entity is exempt!ā
Iām damned glad I have retired from my job at my university. At least I donāt hafta wonder if any of my students are packing heat and ready to take me out for giving them a poor but deserved grade
Iāve already been thru a demented student shooting people in our nursing school some years back. It was not fun even if the NRA had some platitude to offer. That it could be made that much easier I find reprehensible in the extreme. The TN legislature may very well have blood on their hands and angry grieving parents up in their faces sooner than they think.
edit
This happened just down the hall from my lab. I very easily could have been a victim myself. Consequently I have developed rather a strong and very negative attitude toward those who think guns on campus is a good idea. One thing that isnāt generally remembered in the incident I offered a link to was the local swat team, in their effort to clear every room in that very large building ā¦ shot open locked doors. I had bailed when this began and when I left I locked my lab doorā¦ there are certain things in science labs that do not react well to being shot ā¦ in addition to your average innocent human. Compressed gasses, chemicals, very expensive instrumentsā¦stuff like that. As it was this demented guy killed 4 people.
ANY parent who allows their kid to attend colleges in Tennessee is negligent. Spare me the caterwauling on the news when the next campus is shot up.
Does this apply to just Tennessee or other out of state universities as well?
Makes a lot of things make sense, actually.
My sympathies in advance to the unsuspecting student, staff, or faculty member who will be shot when some dumbfuck with a loaded Glock without the safety on drops it while fumbling for his smartphone, and the stray bullet that comes ricocheting out hits said victim in the head.
So is this an argument for or against letting the idiots carry their penile extenders on campus?
@rosie Here in California (did I mention itās a blue state?) the Lt. Gov Gavin Newsom (whoāll probably be the next governor come 2018) has staked his reputation on getting this bill passed.
Religious liberty takes a back seat to guns.
Iām all for requiring liability insurance for gun ownership. After all we do it for other dangerous activitiesā¦like drivingā¦while texting and such.
