He sounds like a pretty typical holier than thou Christer.
âHowever, it is clear that the relentless media-driven agenda against me will continue no matter the position I hold. This targeted media campaign continues to distract our Caucus and the Legislature from focusing on the serious work that must be done over the next few months.â
Republicans take no responsibility for their actions. I am convinced Republican lawmakersâand voters, alikeâswear to an oath that they must never ever admit culpability or responsibility for any of their actions â blame others, blame the media, but never admit you were wrong.
If they would just give up on this family values / sex-jihad nonsense, theyâd actually be able to live like the rest of the human race and wouldnât have these kinds of problems.
What the hell is wrong with these Republican man-children? Iâd bet sizable sums of money that Mr. Durham billed himself as a family-values, christian conservative.
Damn that pesky ââŚrelentless media-driven agendaâŚâ Curses! If not for these interfering, ink-stained wretches, Iâd be knee-deep in pussy today! YA crybaby GOP-Teabagger too cowardly to take responsibility for his actions. How unusualâŚexcept it happens every dang day. I note in another story that Governor Krispy Kreme is also trying to pin all his troubles on âthe media.â As ifâŚ
Well, the Republican party calls themselves The Party of Personal Responsibility, so thatâs like waving the flag to keep from being called unpatriotic, or flashing a Bible around to prevent others from calling them Godless heathens.
Itâs like a sickness.
Blast you liberal media for your targetted campaign against a hard-working civil servant just trying to get a job. I mean do his jobâŚ
The one who victimized others, once again, plays the victim. He just doesnât get it.
This is the state that hosted the Scopes Trial, folks.
AhhhhhâŚthe old âIâm kind of a slime but itâs all the mediaâs fault that I have to take responsibility for it!â press release. Got it.
Jesus Christ. Hey, Politicians! Just how difficult is it to refrain from doing stupid shit like this after youâve seen like a gazillion political careers wrecked by it?
The real question is âDid he text pix of his junkâ or âDid he do the full Wiener or just the half Wienerâ?
Itâs always the âmediaâ who is to blame, these GOP assholes never take responsibility for ANYTHING.
Text, text, text. Itâs time to stop Americaâs obsession with text!
I hadnât heard about that. OMG.
Good for her husband, soon to be ex. These people are unbelievable.
[Tennessee state Rep. Jeremy Durham ÂŽ resigned from his position as majority whip on Sunday hours after a report in The Tennessean revealed that he had sent âinappropriateâ text messages to numerous women who worked in the statehouse.]
Inappropriate?
The Bible said, âBe Fruitful And Multiplyâ
And the caucus has accepted that heâs stepped down as Whip, but didnât demand his resignation from the legislature. I guess this is a case of âwell, thatâs fine if you want to do that, but you canât be a leader if youâre going to get caught or choose victims that are going to speak up.â
Several years ago I read an article about the âC Streetâ house where many younger GOP Congressmen live. Itâs very much a cult, and one of its teachings, as I recall, was that the rules are for the average person, not for the leaders (meaning the GOP congressmen, who lapped this enabling information up). Hence, we get people like Mark Sanford, Mr. Durham here, and many others who spout religion, rules, and morality and believe in authorian, Christian government which restricts sexual and spiritual freedom for everyone but them. I know Dems fall into this trap, too, but rarely do you hear them pontificating like the GOP.
They also know how to oppose government and simultaneously use it to enrich themselves. So many of them practice this hypocrisyâGingrich, Vitter, Livingston, etc. Since the whole thing is one big grift and the right wing media are part of it, it rarely gets brought to light, and there certainly are no lasting consequences for it. Itâs good Durham, who gives new meaning to the word âwhip,â is out of office, but thereâs another one like him in the pipeline, rest assured.
High bar, low barâŚit sounds like this guy really didnât care which barâŚas long as they met up with them there.
Which, given that high level of confidence that just getting them to a bar is going to seal the deal for him, they might want to do a search for any date rape drugs in his possession.
Just canât help themselves. For every appropriately named Anthony Wiener there are a half dozen of this guy.
