I would like to point out the physical similarity of Ted cruz to one “Tail Gunner” Joe McCarthy, Senator from Wisconsin back in the 1950’s who was famous for his “red scare” public investigations.
Compare the image with this article of Ted Cruz to this one of Joe McCarthy:
The kicker is…they are very much alike in their public personna.
Both are/were asshats.

Just as Cruz behaved as a total asshole and continually disrupted any semblance of order in the Senate…I think the thespian from TX can count on a little turnabout over the next couple of years…at which point even the most lame brained acolyte of the GOP winger freaks will understand that doing nothing as a government representative is no way to contribute to a prosperous American future.

We don’t have an obnoxious asshole in a safe seat willing to be an obnoxious asshole on the floor of the Senate for the cameras, like they have in Cruz.
Our senators still bemoan the lack of “comity” and “collegiality”.
It just wouldn’t be seemly to be like that nasty Mr. Cruz, no not at all.
You might not get invited to the next social function.

Captain, as a young man I was around to witness how Joe ruined peoples lives. And not just on TV. There was a lady who lived about 4-5 houses down the street from usand she had done under cover work about Sen. McCarthy for the FBI. And she had testified in front of a Grand Jury in L.A. Her work had become public knowledge. Ralph Edwards, MC of “This is Your Life” TV show at the time set up his gear on her front lawn while the lady was away at a dinner with her husband. He was in the know about the show but she was not. Several neighbors, and me, were on the sidewalk to observe. When they arrived she bailed out of the car and ran screaming up to Mr Edwards yelling “THEY’VE BLOWN UP MY HOUSE!!!”. Imagine the stress she was under because of Sen. McCarthy.

A lot of politicians engage in hyperbole. Locally Martha McSally who is running for Congress in AZ dist. 2 as a republican has helped to send a flyer around suggesting she alone could “secure” the Mexican border, That she alone will “Direct an overhaul of Washington’s failed border security strategy.” As if a single Representative had that much executive power. BTW, I quoted directly from the flyer which I have in my hand at the moment. In truth it was paid for by the Arizona Republican Party. Yesterday I got hold of them and informed them that even though I’d made up my mind to vote for Ron Barber, my vote decision was solidified due to the hyperbolic nature of this flyer and the salacious nature of others they have sent out over the past few weeks. I wanted them to know they’d shot themselves in the foot in my opinion.

BTW, “Ted,” while you may get your wish to “retire” Senator Reid from the Majority Leader’s chair, he is no more up for re-election than you are. Pipe down, the adults are trying to have a conversation here! A thoroughly loathsome creature is this Cruz person.

My fond hope is that if the repubs do in fact take the Senate (may they rot) that Sen. McConnell fails in his reelection bid. That would be justice. And it would make Plucky’s day as well.
