Discussion: Ted Cruz Has A Rick Perry Moment: Can't Keep Track Of Agencies He Would Eliminate

This just in:

Cruz: Whut? I did an oopsie? Yes of course I’m gonna cut the gawdamn Department of Education. Stuff never did me no good no how.

You’d think they’d want to keep commerce too since that holds all IP like patent and trademark office …

Watching Chris Mathews do a mop-up on the debate is like watching the father of the athletic director describe the events in a closely fought college football game. For some absurd reason, he is going out of his way to welcome and accept all ludicrous Republican talking points as though his very employment depends on his not shredding the idiocy of Trump, Carson, Fiorina, Rubio and Cruz. Carson says that the “people who know him know he’s an honest person,” and Mathews says absolutely nothing regarding the multiple charges that Carson is an out-and-out liar.

Do your job, Chris, or get the fuck off the air.

Unlike most republican ideas, it’s not totally insane. In theory, corporations give all there money back to individuals in the form of wages or dividends … So the dual taxation idea is not entirely unfounded. You could abolish that tax and increase taxes on capital gains and potentially boost the economy … Of course taxing profits might be an insentive to invest more in labor and infrastructure, so who knows … But it’s not totally bonkers

It can and has been argued. But then we’d be in the weird position of corporations getting direct benefits from the government at no expense. On top of that, they are allowed to buy political influence. It seems like representation without taxation.

When MSNBC is toadying up to the candidates as though Joe Scarborough were directing the coverage, I have not only switched off the post-debate coverage but sent an email to Phil Griffin about what a YOOGE disappointment this network has become. I am absolutely disgusted with Mathews and his cronies for making this travesty of political debate a seemingly significant and important discussion, rather than pointing out the depth of the lies and disinformation that were just passed along to the public, to rousing applause.

DO YOUR FUCKING JOB, MSNBC!!!

How do you eliminate the IRS? By eliminating every single business and personal income tax deduction? By never auditing any business and personal income tax return? By not padlocking businesses that are deducting FICA and not sending it in? I guess you could eliminate Social Security, Medicare, Disability, Worker Comp, and Unemployment Insurance. That would help.

Yeah. It’s a Jersey Texas thing.

Ted Cruz, not quite as dumb as Rick Perry. Not a bad slogan really.

Ted just shat the bed. Cruz just began to lose. Rafael, you smell.

Yep. Applying the Republican argument is to ignore the corporate entity for the purpose of distributing profits, but invoke the corporate entity for other purposes, such as limiting the liability of the shareholders and allowing the corporation to exercise its rights of personhood.

I’ve heard Cruz and some other Republican’s say that a few times but I’ve never heard the “liberal” media ask him how that is going to work. We’re just going to expect everyone to be honest and send our taxes directly to the treasury? You still need an arm of government to collect taxes. But eliminating the IRS sure sounds nice to non-thinking base

Quite a few candidates tonight suggested getting rid the payroll tax but none of the “moderators” bothered to follow up with the inevitable question about how we were going to pay for Medicare and Social Security if we did that. Although their answer would probably be to eliminate those programs too.

And some righty media types said he had a good night. That in a nutshell is the Repug silly season… for a guy whose every word is scripted, to forget a key part of that script and still have the media give him high marks, is pretty telling. It’s clear that the RNC, Fux Snooze, and whoever else runs the GOP these days knows that ole doc Fibber McSleepy’s egg timer is just about done, so they need to steer the whacko Christianists to some other candidate.

rafeal cruz, jr. is running to be pastor-in-chief, not Commander-in-Chief! As an athiest, I have to say NO THANK YOU! This is a secular nation.

Do you not have kids? A FIVE year old knows why. Two reasons:

First - and this alone is sufficient - Lord Business says so

And second:

[Proceeds to drop all claims for compensation for permanent disability due to employer negligence at the worksite; is carried off stage by family members & unemployed unpaid volunteers]

Ted Cruz:

Today, we rolled out a spending plan. $500 billion in specific cuts. Five major agencies that I would eliminate: the IRS, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Energy, uh, the Department of Commerce, and HUD.

There are five candidates that stand out from the rest of the Republican Presidential Primary field as clownier than the clowniest of clowns: Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, and Ted Cruz.

Cutting payroll taxes? That is cutting unemployment insurance and workers comp Insurance, and Social security. So who is going to cover those expenses? Are we going to wait for congress to act? Just like they did on extending unemployment - not. How do you kill social security - cut the tax. Did I miss the follow up questions???

Sorry, Ted. Only Congress can eliminate federal agencies.

So do you think republican candidates really don’t understand how the federal budget works and really believe we owe some big mean entity all this deficit? And that if we can’t pay it back they’re going to come into town and put us all in debtors prison or something? Or are they just depending of their voters being that stupid? I mean goddamn Reagan ran the deficit sky high and they worship the ground he pissed on…ok emptied his catheter drain bag onto,

So to be safe, lets eliminate all the numbers above 2. Einstein would weep.

It’s a little hard to drag out the mechanism, but all we have to do is elect any one of these noble faithful public servants and everything will be 1) really great, and 2) Free!

Ted Cruz economic plan: I’m going to hurt 66,000 American families by putting 66,000 people out of work, not to mention the immeasurable harm I’m going to cause by terminating thousands upon thousands of small business contracts with the 3 or 4 or Wutevah number of agencies I’ll cut, reducing or eliminating the revenues those contract firms rely upon and putting those small businesses’ employees out of work and hurting their families, too. Becuz libburtea.
