Discussion: Tea Party Leader Lobbies For Immigration Reform

Discussion for article #222732

Keeping in mind that the Tea Party express is a Koch org and the Kochs want the worker visa program call me unsurprised. However sounding just like Obama on the penalty issue and back of the line for the 11 million already here is a bit of a head scratcher.

Ironically the only thing that will get immigration reform with a path to citizenship passed is greed. Funny how that works…

I think the Tea Party Express is one of the more fraudulent groups. They’re the ones with the bus, right?

More H1B visas. Sure, businesses love that idea while the rest of America lives on bread crumbs.

Yes, as I recall.

They need cheap labor to repair their Rascal Scooters…

“We” don’t have the talent to fill high-skilled jobs? You know what a good example of a low-skilled job is? Founder of the Tea Party Express.

“we do not have the talent we need to fill the jobs.”

“we do not have people we need who will work like slaves for very little reward to fill the jobs.” (fixed)

So the immigrants should get “legal status,” but presumably not citizenship. I mean, they can’t be allowed to vote or anything–just to work and increase business profits.

Nothing to be surprised. Tea Party people also live under the umbrella of the GOP. And the GOP prefer money to people. The same happens in this case. Do you remember US Chamber of Commerce’s position. The Chamber asked GOP not to even field a candidate in 2016 if immigration bill is not passed. It is a clear message to the Teabaggers. They know that flow of cash may dry up their tongue if they continue to oppose immigration reform. And that caused Teabaggers trying to change their stance. For cash they can do anything.

Methinks they want to blunt the immigration issue with Hispanics before the November elections. “See, Republicans do care about you and have a plan. Only you haven’t seen it, because those Democrats won’t work with us.” And realistically, there is no time to move a NEW House immigration bill through the process (including Senate approval) before November. Of course, there is a Senate-approved immigration bill gathering dust on Boehner’s desk.

If Speaker Boehner would bring up a House bill for his caucus, or the Senate-passed bill for a vote, I’m certain the TeaPubs would love them to death!

They want that Silicon Valley money the Zuckerberg types are waving in front of them. They are trying to figure out how to get it without giving immigrants any rights, and, at the same time, getting the immigrant vote. That is why they wanted to split up the immigration bill into separate pieces.
