Sorry, Susan. All evidence still says you’re the black woman who worked for the black guy. That’s all they need.
Nice how Trump tries to angle the story away from the fact that if what is turning out to be his ENTIRE entourage hadn’t been speaking to Russian (and other unfriendly) agents, they wouldn’t have been caught up in any wiretaps for ongoing espionage investigations…
Andrea Fucking Mitchell. As usual, carrying water for Trump, Bannon and the Right Wing “conspiracy” circus.
I think that the word “unmasking” will be enough to keep the base in line with Trump.
There are plenty of idiots who will think that the “technicality” of the difference between unmasking and leaking doesn’t matter, not understanding the chasm which is much greater than the similarity of the words suggests.
Stop being illegally black, Susan.
Oh, please. That’s such bullshit. Mitchell has not even remotely been carrying water for Trump.
In this instance she’s giving Rice the chance to refute these bogus charges, when everyone else has had on folks pushing the GOP’s diversion strategy.
Narrative-Driving Is The One Part Of The Presidency Trumpers Have Mastered
. . . . Rice was the national security adviser, which means that unmasking names in such reports is part of her job. . . . And yet today Team Trump is driving the day, as the insiders used to say, with a story that’s migrated from the fever swamps to the respectable press.
. . . .The Trumpers can’t get a law passed, can’t seem to write a substantial executive order that withstands legal scrutiny, can’t stop leaks, can’t fill government jobs … but, using bizarre techniques, they’ve jiujitsued this Russia story until it’s likely to look like an Obama scandal to nearly half the country. And they’ve worked hard to get to this point: the Trump tweets, the stony-faced defense of the Trump tweets from Sean Spicer and others, the bizarre antics of Devin Nunes, and now the leaks that got us to this point. A lot of people looked ridiculous, but the Trumpers have control of the narrative, at least for the moment.
. . . Trump has an intuitive knack for self-serving publicity generation, which he’s honed for decades. Steve Bannon spent years working in right-wing media, where the purpose of all labor is to try to undermine any narrative that’s bad for conservatism, whether or not it’s accurate. I don’t think the Trumpers will ever get the knack of governing – but they know how to manipulate the public on their own behalf, and that might keep their presidency afloat for a while.
Narrative-Driving Is The One Part Of The Presidency Trumpers Have Mastered | Crooks and Liars
I am not sure that “Investigating” Susan Rice is a wise thing to do, certainly not in a public hearing. At most Rice is someone to bitch about in the alt-right forums and in Fox & Friends (am I repeating myself?).
I wonder what Susan Rice, Barack Obama and Eric Holder have in common? They are demonized and serve as “doggie chew toys” for the Right. She followed procedures, but the Right will not believe anything she says or does.
I’ll give Andrea the chance to ask the question once, and then report honestly and fully on the response.
If, as she has done in the past, she continues to raise the question without reporting the answer, then yes, she is carrying water for the RWNJ in the White House.
She gets one chance to get it right - otherwise, she is just a stenographer who can’t even take notes properly and deserves to be sidelined.
Well, now the Special Prosecutor looking into Russian influence in the US government knows EXACTLY who to subpoena!
Mitchell has been carrying water for the Trump campaign - until recently when I feel her coverage has been a little more even (perhaps even she and Alan are afraid of what this administration might do). Today, I thought she gave Susan Rice a chance to explain herself quite effectively. What the right-wing echo chamber will do with it is another story.

Well, honestly, only to about 25% of the country. The rest of the nation is capable of understanding what a National Security Advisor does in an administration.
Come on, Repubbies. Subpoena Rice to appear. She’ll walk away wearing your balls as dangly earrings.
But they couldn’t do this without so many complicit, docile or gullible members of the media. I mean, for chrissake, The NYT is still, for the umpteenth time, doing articles on white voters in obscure counties (the latest one in Idaho) who still like Trump.
Judging by the reaction of whiny Trumpers on Twitter, Rice’s interview was very effective. Calling them out for breaking the law on disclosing classified info was the right response. Schiff just issued a statement too. He’s on the prowl. Think we’re having a successful pushback on the Trump ‘fake news’ strategy. With this pushback, I expect more unraveling of this story.
I suspect they’re doing these articles because this phenomenon of supporting a completely erroneous officeholder has never been seen on this scale. Even though these poorer counties will be the most adversely affected by his politics and that of the Congress, they want to, pray to, believe in this guy. It really is unprecedented and gives us all the insight to allow us to figure out how to overcome it going forward.
I’ve completly lost patience with the Andrea Mitchells, Chuck Todds and Chris Matthews types. Pfft!
Fuck, yes! I’d love for Susan to be under oath and tell the whole world what she knows. They (the republics) better be careful for what they wish.
