Discussion: Survey: Nearly 9 In 10 US Adults Now Have Health Insurance

Discussion for article #235248

Republicans don’t believe it, but flat out opposition to the ACA has been a giant blunder for them. It is really easy for proponents to turn the heads of conservatives who have been swayed by the “repeal every word” line advanced by Republican politicians. When told that repeal every word will mean a return of allowing insurance companies to deny coverage because of their pre-existing conditions a lot of my conservative friends are brought up short. They begin to wonder if they have been sold a bill of goods.

They can live with the ACA; it’s Obamacare that the GOP detests and of which the media usually speaks.

Slightly off topic but this sponsored message on the main page:
"The Most Dangerous Diseases You’ve Never Heard Of"

I really dislkie headlines like this. I expect to see crap like this on HuffPost, not here. I understand sponsored messages are part of TM’s business model and it’s for income but c’mon. Many posters here are experts in various fields and we aren’t stupid. I spent nearly 50 years doing basic medical research and I don’t need to be told about rare diseases as if I am an unaware dim bulb.
Sorry about venting but headlines like this one annoy me.
