Discussion: String Of Anti-Muslim Attacks And Threats Follow San Bernardino Shooting

Discussion for article #243760

When a Muslim commits a crime against U.S. citizens, it’s called terrorism. When U.S. citizens commit a crime against Muslims, it’s called a hate crime. What’s the difference?

Sadly, to paraphrase Hank Williams Jr., these folks are just carrying on an old family tradition of a lot of Americans.

Does Chief Justice Roberts live in a complete vacuum or in complete isolation: If this is post-racial America, then I’d hate to see what happens when a Republican is elected President!

I wonder what Roberts would say to this:

The Cleveland Plain Dealer explained this week that it had disabled comments on all of its stories about a 12-year-old black child who was shot by police because “a small army” of administrators could not delete the racist comments fast enough.

Graffiti mentioning Islam and the Islamic State was discovered at a Sikh temple in Buena Park, California.

Those who don’t know about history are doomed to repeat it. These vandals would fit right in with the mobs who killed Arab Christians in the First Crusade - they’re so ignorant that it makes them dangerous.

This is wrong. Some of this anti-Muslim violence is domestic terrorism and should be identified as such. So should anti-woman violence be called out as terrorism. White, Christian privilege is still strong in America.

None of this can be true; Marco Rubio says there’s no evidence of any discrimination against Muslims in this country.

With the upcoming GOP debates the next few weeks expect the list of these ugly incidents to grow as Republican candidates will use fear and discrimination to gin up hate and try to gain political power among ‘conservatives.’

America, home of the free? Next these folks will be screaming Love it or Leave it.

Pish-posh. I was assured here in these comments just the other day that nothing very unusual is going on in America or in proximity to the Trump campaign.

No doubt the idiots think of themselves of some kind of super patriots who are doing the country a big favor and are too dumb to understand why are actually making things much, much worse.Either that or they are simply thugs looking for an excuse to be violent.

America just loves to get it’s hate on. It’s not the corporate thieves making your life miserable. It’s those people.

I think most of this anti-Muslim behavior can be laid at Trump’s feet.

Nothing new, here; and, nothing will change: we are humans, with all our imperfections. Deal with it.

Onward Christian Soldiers?

My country cousins have little to say other than that the Muslims might be happier and safer some where else. I tell them that Native Americans have somewhat similar thoughts.
