Avenatti is the perfect lawyer for this. I’m not sure what Stormy wants to get out of this, but her attorney has a great feel for the publicity circus. So gratifying to watch Hannity, Trump being undone by ‘entertainment litigation.’

A few reasons:

  • USAO/FBI basically say that Cohen is a pretend lawyer, which means any claim of privilege should be thrown out and USAO/FBI should get all the docs, even the Trump ones. If Sean Hannity is your client, you’re a pretend lawyer…because…well…Sean Hannity!
  • If Sean Hannity claims that Cohen isn’t his lawyer then all of his stuff that was seized gets looked at by the feds. Some of it might not be good for Sean. Sean claims he used Cohen for ‘real estate’ work. Where I grew up they called it ‘waste management’ or the ‘olive oil’ business. Basically, Sean could be tied up with money laundering.
  • It’s embarrassing for Fox because Hannity has a conflict. For most of us on this site that doesn’t mean much because we’ve always known Hannity is a fraud. However, Fox may feel compelled, as they did with O’Reilly, to cut him off due to image/PR problems.
  • I also strongly suspect (based on what I’ve observed and what I’ve read on twitter) that Sean has been coordinating activities with Russian news sources, including RT and Sputnik. During the campaign, Josh often pointed out how Trump’s stump speeches were echoing themes presented first on these networks/pubs. I think that has continued and a lot of the Russian disinformation that we saw in the campaign exists today. One clear example was the Roy Moore-Doug Jones Senate race. Hannity and Trump were all in on Moore and so were Russian bots. In fact, they took the lead because most US sources wanted to steer clear of Roy. One key person who actively tweeted in favor of Moore was Artem Klyushin (who was with Trump at the Miss Universe pageant in 2013 and is rumored to be the guy who helped Emin Agalarov set up the pee pee tape incident at the Moscow Ritz). Some of the info in Cohen’s vault (the real Al Capone vault if you will) may speak to this coordination, or what the GOP likes to refer to as ‘collusion’).
  • Update: I’d also add the possibility that Hannity has sexual relationships to cover up.

Agreed. Under other circumstances, I think I would find Avenatti’s behavior off-putting. But watching him “out-Trump” Trump with innuendo, tweets and that photo of a DVD is just incredibly satisfying.

I can only imagine that Trump despises Avenatti with the heat of a thousand suns, and yet Trump can only direct his rage elsewhere.
