Discussion: Steve Bannon Is High-Ranking Trump Campaign Official In Stone Indictment

And they won’t have any trouble finding Bannon at night, either, considering that 480-LED backlit Gin Blossom on his face.

If the take down is on the course at Mar-a-largo, it would be perfect.

Is falsifying golf scores indictable as well?

Nancy is working on that.

Perhaps a lawyer here can fill us in on how serious these charges might be? It looks like the indictments are written to strongly suggest that Stone knows things that would be of interest to the investigation. What price might be pay to keep his mouth shut? Is he just looking at a week in jail (and no doubt a massively funded Gofundme)? Or, do these charges add up to, oh, year or more? They seem much lighter than Manafort’s charges, to me. If the carrot for telling all is don’t go to jail, what’s the stick? I’d guess it’s going to take a large stick for Stone to flip. Are additional charges likely or is this it?

I feel like I’ve been following Stone’s, um, troubles fairly closely but I really don’t have a sense of what kind of legal jeopardy he might be in after today. No doubt he’ll need more expensive lawyering but so far, at least before getting arrested, he hasn’t seemed much concerned about what might happen to him.

I would think that Bannon is the key to a very ugly room.

It would be supporting evidence.

Oh God, he’s one of the fugly thugs whose half-baked notions are part of the mental climate that let all this happen. He’s like the Houston Stewart Chamberlain of his time. But I thought he’d kept his distance from the actual criminal stuff. He seemed to have a nubbin of common sense about that. Again, I humbly confess. It’s not like I’m going to be a character witness for the defense, I’ll say that much.

The only time I grin this early is after sex. This is better. I hope my girlfriend doesn’t see this.

I’ll have a longer write-up later this morning, but Bannon being identified in an indictment is not something I was expecting (though it was always plausible).

This would explain how Bannon was able to calm the troops down following Access Hollywood. What this indictment leaves open, though it is a bit suggestive, is that the Trump campaign contacted Stone and told Stone to check in with Wikileaks to accelerate their releases because Trump needed the help. That would probably be the most decisive political impact of the ‘collusion’ thread. There’s a lot more here, and I do think that piling up the charges on Stone where he will go away to jail for the rest of his life should convince him to turn. This indictment is written in a way where no pardon is coming.

Keep an eye on the Russian embassy, lest Bannon seek asylum.

Dum, da, dum, dum…

I hope your source is better than Buzzfeed’s though.

I thought the same thing but it is possible that Mueller has taken his time getting around to Bannon for some strategic reason. Bannon is only one step away from Trump. He hates Kushner and I doubt that he would do anything that Kushner told him to do so that leaves Trump as the one giving the order.

I always thought it was odd that after talking with OSC, Bannon was released back into the population to roam about at will and he wasn’t talked about much. Considering all the Cambridge Analytica business et all.

I do hope he lied to the FBI about this. Bannon -> Conway -> Jarvanka -> Jr. -> Shitgibbon.

Let’s see what falls out when this zipper gets pulled.

Good point. I was swayed too much by reports of reckless things he’d tried to talk Trump out of, and wondered if he had that thread of caution in his makeup.
