Discussion: Step Back From That Ledge, My Friend: Rock Band Enrages RNC Concertgoers

I see my experience wasn’t unique!

Step back from the ledge - fat chance. Here’s some of the misogynistic tchotchkes on sale at the convention

The misogyny and gendered attacks directed at Clinton and heard in the streets of Cleveland were echoed in the RNC’s official program. On the opening night of the convention, Sen. Darryl Glenn (R-CO) mocked Clinton’s signature pantsuits, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn joined in on a chant of “Lock her up!” and an earlier speaker offered, “Hillary for prison. She deserves to be in stripes.”

Most first albums are. It’s the following albums that prove their worth.

How many points does it have though?

My respect for Third Eye Blind just increased massively. Right on!

Correct…because a band/artist has literally years of material to choose from. After that, they have maybe one year of new stuff.

Nah, just the typical double standard - all for me and none for thee.

And this is what the next four years will look like. All this will replace birtherism and the n[clang] word.

Isn’t that appealing [sarcasm]?

Hah. When Dennis Miller wanted “Sons and Daughters” as his outro, The Decemberists told him to fuck off. I bought 6 albums on the spot.

I’ve heard rumors there are still people that pay for music.

So…let’s see…who could they have gotten to play that will support their platform? Victoria Jackson and Dennis Miller performing vaudeville? The Duck Humpers’ jug band?

It’s horrifying.

So they boo when he speaks up for gay rights, and then cheer a song about a gay suicide. Lovely people…

Sometimes I wonder, why do Republicans even listen to music?

“Who here believes in science?” So much booing.

Who needs science when you’ve got two Corinthians?

…AND let’s not forget the leather

So, what was the answer?

Obviously, every drink the RNC delegates have been served in Cleveland has been a double … plus meth.

Asking who believes in science and getting boos. That pretty much describes republicans in a nutshell or should I say asylum?
