Discussion: State Senator Takes Heat For Comparing Obamacare To Holocaust

Discussion for article #222417

Ladies and gentlemen, this is today’s Republican Party. Make these bastards own it.

Don’t Republicans get tired of having to slap down their own? This is what happens when you are so desperate for votes you align yourselves with the lowest common denominator.

There just seems to be a total lack of maturity, class and character within the Republican party. It really is a sad thing. I used to think they threw things like this out to see if they would stick but I now believe they truly do not know any better.

I posted this comment on another website, because I think this needs to happen.

I know this will never happen, but what some principled journalist needs to do is to get this Senator on camera, show him several minutes of graphic footage from the the concentration camps; complete with summary executions, piles of rotting corpses being bulldozed into pits, and lines of women and children being led to the gas chambers under the auspices of taking a shower. And when the clip is over, this journalist needs to lean forward in his chair, stare straight into the eyes of this pile of human s@#t, and while the camera is zoomed in to his face, ask him, “Explain to me, Senator, specifically what part of what you just watched is “just like Obamacare””?

And don’t let him vacillate with his answer. Force him to answer the question. Make him own his statement.

Or better yet, have a constituent show up at a town hall with a poster showing a Holocaust atrocity, and ask him this same question. Make him defend it.

Shocking level of ignorance that, in a sane society, would receive the appropriate response, and he wouldn’t be re-elected, ever.

Instead? Depressing.

"‘I think Jewish people should be the first to stand up against Obamacare,’ Campfield said. "

Fuck you very much.

There hasn’t been a whole lot of slapping. Remember Boner campaigning for a Nazi SS-reenactor?

There was a time when a jerk like this would say something along these lines and there would a couple of WWII vets who had seen the Holocaust first hand who would bluntly and painfully shut him up in a way that altered his dental work … and it did not matter what party of parties the vets belonged to - when it came to this subject, the were on the same side!

what a garden variety turd.

This schmuck belittles the misery of millions of Jewish families the world over and then doubles down on his pathetic ignorance by telling American Jews how to act.

What a hateful, repugnant piece of shit.

I am hoping some smart Democratic strategist is collecting all of this nonsense to bundle into some ad buy. “This is your Republican Party” and launch into these clips, quotes and soundbites.

It is scary to know that there is a man like Campfield in a position of authority but it is absolutely jaw dropping frightening to know that a majority of the electorate in his district agree with and voted for this ignorant man.

-In 2011 Campfield introduced the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which would have prohibited classroom teachers from mentioning the existence of homosexuals. In addition, educators would be required to notify parents that their children are gay.

-Campfield introduced a bill to cut welfare for families if their kids’ failed to make “satisfactory academic progress.” At a hearing on that proposal, Campfield mocked an 8-year-old-girl when she gave him a petition opposing the bill, saying, “How are you? Thanks for coming,” Campfield told the girl. “I love it when people use children as props.”

-Protecting imaginary families like his, he moved to shut down “Sex Week” at University of Tennessee-Knoxville by threatening to defund the entire university.

The stupid just won’t go away.

and yet another embarrassment for the state of Tennessee.

How long before this turd outs himself? Always happens with the ones who denounce gays the loudest.

My mom taught me to consider what a person says and does before I take them seriously. As GOPPERS make absolutely crazy statements, like this guy did or that Huckleberry minister saying that there is more freedom in North Korea than under Obama, you have to ask yourself, “Is this a person we want making or enforcing laws?” Also ask yourself, “Is this a party we want in power?” I have grandchildren in daycare with more logic abilities than these fools!

"“When you have government deciding who gets health insurance and who doesn’t…”

Er, I thought the thing that has their panties in a twist is because the government is saying everyone should have health insurance? It would be nice if they kept their conspiracies straight.
