It’s not true that post op a patient needs them. I’ve had joint replacement surgeries, plural, none have been easy on me, and each time they’ve sent me home with prescriptions for opioids. I’ve also had physical therapists who told me be sure to take some meds before we start therapy to help get through it.
I’ve ignored all the medical professionals who at that moment have turned into drug-use enablers, and I’m still standing.
