Discussion for article #223952
Maybe what they ought to do is close the embassy.
I hope they’re beefing up the helipad on the roof.
And cc’ing the entire GOP leadership with the funding requests.
Coming soon to FoxNews: Bergdadghazi!!
We can blame this all on Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, Donald Rumsfeld and that knob; Darryl Worley.
Yeah, Saddam Hussein was behind 9-11, was allied with al Qaeda, had weapons of mass destruction, purchased uranium from Niger…NOT!!!
This clusterfu_k is 10 magnitudes worse then Benghazi and is totally the GOP’s fault.
Investigate that up your a$$, Fox News!!!
Yup. And a seer and sage named Josh-Something pretty much called it: http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2003/0304.marshall.html.
It’s sometimes been referred to as the neocon’s “spread the chaos” approach to the Middle East, a muddled foreign policy involving the laughable illusion that toppling the authoritarian regimes in the region would somehow yield vibrant participatory democracies, friendly to the West. Morons.
Things may seem a little out of hand right now but we have to balance all these negatives against the benefits we’ve seen from our foray into Iraq such as
I thought the Iraqis took over the City of Oz that Bush built. Where is our embassy now?
You can add this guy to your list:
…crickets…fart…nothing…dead silence.
I think you’re confusing the Green Zone with our brand new $750 million dollar embassy.

I can’t believe we couldn’t keep Iraq safe with that embassy.
I would be packed just in case.
Shades of Saigon in '75.
“…supporting them as they strengthen Iraq’s constitutional processes and defend themselves from imminent threats…”
And hoping for the best, as is everyone. Good luck to all of them.
That Embassy reminds me of Lutyen’s Viceroy’s Palace in New Delhi. Same mindset behind the building, too.
Yes, that’s precisely the image that comes to mind. Maybe that’s why the Adminstration has dispatched the U.S.S. George H.W. Bush to the Persian Gulf. Those helicopters are going to need somewhere to land.
Yeah, they better bolster that security this time around. There are no videos on YouTube that can get all those militants mad at this time and provoke them to retaliate on the American Embassy.
I think I know what you’re trying to say but just to be sure could you make your post coherent?
I don’t understand what everybody is upset about. We all know that the war in Iraq is a “mission accomplished”.
