He got tossed from ABC and had to resort to Fox to supplement his income. And it puts a smile on my face to imagine just how much he hates having to rub elbows and share time with the likes of O’Reilly.
Basically, Will is in the decline of his career now, and I think he realizes it. He always tried to position himself as one of the “intelligent” conservatives, and that wing is pretty much non existent today. Having his article pulled is another big reminder to him.
A big serving of schadenfreude goes to Will. Overall, though, this seems like only a sideways move, and not exactly clearing the house of right-wing partisans
What about his right to offer completely inaccurate and highly grotesque opinions without consequence!? Another victim of the Politically Correct Armies in 0bama’s America!
Coming to Will’s rescue will be only a secondary concern, at most, when the right wingers seize upon this as more evidence of Obama’s suppression of their god-given right to speak the holy truth!
I must be only person who didn’t realize that he wore a toupee! In my defense, I rarely have seen him on tv, and quickly changed the channel once I got the gist of his point; he’s so annoying and sanctimonious. I couldn’t be happier to hear of this cancellation after his horrifyingly tone-deaf and thoroughly incompetent column, an insult to all women. Yea! (or the internet version: Yay!)
Well, eventually Gerson will say something completely illogical and offense, then what? David Brooks? Krautslammer? Pretty soon, there won’t be any “conservative” columnists.
There first move will be to grab what they perceive as the coveted victimhood status. Sweet, sweet irony! (However, totally lost on these empty suits/empty heads.)
Michael Gerson for George Will. It’s a relief to know that there will be no drop-off in know-it-all condescension, couched in tortured prose and mendacious arguments.
Today I believe justice is still possible in the marketplace for ideas. He had been tried in the balance of merit and found wanting. George Will, everything you know is wrong. You have never been right. You wouldn’t understand right thinking if it bit you in the ass. Which apparently, it has.
Agreed.
The more this type of blowback occurs, the better for public discourse.
It’s fabricated conflict in propaganda form-- such as Will’s column-- that keeps normally sensible people from discussing the nation’s welfare.
This has inspired me to write to my (one and only) newspaper in order to voice my displeasure/distaste of this miserable old fool and request that his column be removed from said newsrag. I don’t expect any changes but one does what one can. I urge everyone to do the same. Who knows, maybe threat of cancellation will do the trick. I also despise Krauthammer but first things first.
