Discussion: Special Counsel Has Hired 13 Lawyers, 'With Several More In The Pipeline'

Can’t tweet your way out of this one Trump

You don’t keep hiring lawyers, let alone the best and the baddest in the business, if you don’t plan on prosecuting a whole slew of people. And you don’t hire the best and the baddest if you think it’ll just be a couple of bit players here and there. Nope, by the time it’s all said and done, we may seriously be saying, “President Hatch”.

I’m taking great joy in the fact that Mueller is assembling a legal dream team while Turmeric the Terrible is stuck with Kasowitz, who is essentially a thuggish civil litigator who has deep ties to the very people that are at the heart of Micturition Man’s troubles, and a lawyer whose sole claim to fame has been a lifetime of crying religious persecution (Christian) named Jay Sekulow.

When I think of fighting such serious — and about to get a lot more serious — charges, these aren’t the guys to have in your corner.

But hey, what are you going to do when your reputation is “the guy won’t pay and the guy won’t listen”?

ETA: It’s also been pointed out that A-list lawyers are now clamoring to join Mueller’s team. They see it as being part of the “Trial of the Century” capable of burnishing their reputations and ultimately sending their hourly rates into the $1,000+ range.

Who said Drumpf wasn’t a “job creator”?

Sounds like Mueller is not sh*tting around. He means business and he means to see “someone” behind bars within the year.

So thirteen attorneys and counting? This investigation is extremely far reaching.

I should also note that the resumes of the attorney’s he’s hired are unbelievable (financial crimes, corporate fraud, organized crime, Russian mafia, etc.)

I wonder if there is an effort to get everything and drop it all at once, kind of like an FBI raid in A RICO case - “two hundred and fifty three suspects were arrested today in multiple raids…”

Kind of envy these guys. What a cool job. This team will be looked upon admirably through the lens of history.

And, Trumpie, unlike your lawyers, these all attended the best schools and are tops in their specialties

Probably not what Trump was thinking when he said he only hires the best!

His disapproval is greater than his approval, 51-43, in the latest Texas polling

And that would be infinitely better than what we have now.

That’s another thing, I don’t think it’s going to take the 12-18 months many in the media are predicting. This isn’t Nixon’s administration, Clinton’s or W’s where folks are accused of bad acts that were in no way a threat to our country or our sovereignty. Time is not on his side, and he doesn’t have the luxury of a long, drawn out investigation. These are people who may still be working with the Russians and may still be compromised in a way that threatens our country. I imagine there’s a need to “get these people off the street” before they do more damage. Plus, Mueller must know how badly PP wants to fire him, so he must be feeling some heat to get it done as quickly as is feasible.

And can speak in complete sentences.

Did Texas just score (1) day without being a national embarrassment?
