Why I’m very hesitant to support Joe Biden. I’m no expert, but I’d think that the pressure of the presidency can speed mental decline. Viz. the present incumbent.

That was my other thought, but, given the nature of the SPLC’s activism, I was reluctant to go there. I’m sad to learn that was an issue there, if true.

If this is what the initial reports suggest (some kind of personal behavior issue either racial, sexual, financial or all three), it’s likely yet another example of what I call the Moses effect. People who help create enormous social/political/etc changes can’t help having grown up under the old system and having some of the very ideas they helped overthrow baked into their brains. They can lead only so far.

Speculation is rife at this point but I’ll bet, when the smoke clears (if it ever does), that power and control will be closer to the crux of the matter than anything else.

When you have swindled supporters out of $500 million, there’s plenty of power and control issues that are there.
SPLC is a despicable organization of “moral” bullying, which has long lost relevance. They were going to stop fund-raising $375 million ago, but the clueless self-hating white-ashamed supporters who are guilted into support make it too easy to keep the moolah flowing in. They should be charged with moral swindling, but that’s not a crime. Or vampirism.
This is but one part of the equation that gives me pause with bernie sanders. If he is nominated and wins election, he’ll be 80 years old when he’s inaugurated. We do not need more aged white men in leadership. We need less.
The narcissism of some men who believe they are somehow anointed to lead at such an advanced age is problematic. Move over, grandpa. Let someone else drive.
